She’s the leading scorer in the country and she just dropped 30 points on the Hawkeyes

What else do you

What else do you need to see?
She played the first team with a pulse this season...and against a team that refused to even challenge her. Do you think she'd score 30 against UCONN or LSU or SC? She is a very good player but best in the country because Iowa didn't stop her?

On the early games when we are blowing out crap teams, there should have been some set plays for McCabe to go back door out of her USUAL 3 post set shot spot. No reason for her to just chuck 3's against these lower level teams. At least make upcoming teams have an idea that there might be the even the slightest of possibilities that they have to guard her against a cut and/or drive.

It would have helped IMMENSELY if Hannah had a shot from 12-15 feet tonite.

ISU knew when she gets the ball there that it's a pass to McCabe/ChitChat.
Maybe one drive to the basket from the FT line.
Consequently, our two biggest 3 pt shooters were not getting open shots.

WTF did Steulke do in the off season?
Houston has to get more minutes from the 4 spot.

It will be interesting to see if any head coach out there comes up with a plan to shut her down.

IF they play UConn, South Carolina, Texas or LSU, do you (or anyone else reading this) think that Audi would get away with the pushes, shoves, elbows & taking too many steps?

Geno, Kim & Dawn would be all over those refs, imo.
Against those teams I’d guess Crooks would have fouled out. Those coaches play the refs, ours doesn’t say much. She’s too nice.

Iowa State did a good job of pressuring the ball so that we couldn't run in transition and get clean looks up the floor.

Also, credit to Chit Chat, but we don't have a Caitlin Clark that can still break that pressure and find the open runner through traffic. CC is 6 ft. Chit Chat is what....5'4"?
She looks tiny but she is my favorite player ti watch…

I just don't understand how you are unable to wear our Crooks or get her in foul trouble when she played that many minutes. Missed most of the game, but WTF were we doing to make her actually work and move on defense?

Heiden had two silly/stupid fouls.

The 4th foul.. the "reach in" on the girl she wasn't even guarding was a mental mistake.
She's gotta be smarter.

Ava is a force inside and could have run circles around her, but she was only out there for 15 minutes. Hannah has no confidence on the offensive end, but she was also shoved out of bounds on a no-call when she had her shot blocked. I think Iowa wins this game easily on a neutral court or at Carver, but with women's officials who knows. They're atrocious

Crooks is the best player in the country

It’s hard to believe after I watched her play in the state tournament a few years ago, thinking man if this girl lost a few pounds she’d be pretty good
Lauren Betts will take her lunch money. Unless breathing on her is a foul.

2 silly fouls and 3 completely phantom fouls. The first one set the tone for the whole game. Iowa wins this game 70% on a neutral court and 80% at Carver. They will be alright.

A team with excellent defence. A team that can deny her the ball. She has a killer fade away but sometimes gets a hop or shuffle in there.. its December let's see how this plays out.

Refs didn't know how to officiate Shaq

And they don't know how to officiate this 300 pound cow
I agree that they don't really know what to do with a girl that size. She absolutely gets away with stuff nobody else does, and if she goes down the game stops. Why? That 4th foul on Hannah was the worst call of the game, which is saying something. Crooks pushes her upper and lower back essentially forcefully shoving her under the rim, and when Hannah is flailing and gets a hand on the ball she is called for the foul. Complete garbage, at a critical point in the game.

And when Hannah is seemingly your go to option for points at the end of the game, you're essentially done. Good to great rebounder, worked her butt off on Defense but man she is offensively challenged. Woof.

Journey Houston is already a better all around player as a true freshman, she's just not tall enough with the size Iowa State was putting on the floor, and the foul trouble with Ava.

Jan is never going to stop playing Stuelke a lot of minutes, so we're stuck with lost possessions when she just fires something towards the rim. She's been a really good Hawk, just sad she hasn't improved at all on the offensive side of the equation. And I personally think she doesn't want to shoot very much either, but there are times we don't give her much of a choice.

What exactly do you expect Iowa St to do against UConn or S Carolina? They don’t have the roster of those teams. That would take nothing away from what Crooks can do.

I knew that Stuelke was going to take all the heat from everyone for this loss. She always does. Jans the one playing 2 players in McCabe and Feurbach who are totally 1 dimensional. But keep hating on Stuelke.

Crooks is good but she is allowed to move people out of the way on both ends of the court while at the same time getting calls when people breath in her. If you are going to let her bull people around then you need to let the other team push back. Otherwise call all the fouls softer and she will be fouled out in short order most games.

For starters you double team her front and back and deny her the ball.
Absolutely. Let someone else beat you. Or what happened to our 1-3-1 that we played against Baylor? Why were we determined to only play man to man when we had no chance against Crooks?

She plays Feuerbach way to much too. McCabe deserves to be out there. Stulke doesn't deserve nearly as much time imo, her offense is pitiful
