NG is a great team. Watauga has seen them in the playoffs before. Inclement weather in the forecast, so I hope for safety travels. I quit making predictions a long time ago because I realized my knowledge of the game isnt nearly good enough to do so. I stand by what ive said though, the team who executes best with minimal mistakes will win. The better team will always come out on top this deep in the playoffs. I do think itll be a barn burner and possibly a shootout? Weather may slow both offenses down some I dont know.

I be curious about road conditions Friday night if what I seen this week comes to past. PioneerPride11 you would know more this than what I know. What are they saying in your area about this Friday concerning the weather conditions.
So I dont live in Boone anymore, moved to the Johnson City area about 10 years ago. But when they call for that kind of weather, mainly ice, the roads get nasty. For whatever reason, its especially worse the first ice of the year.
Think Watauga’s offensive style will give them trouble. Defensively, shutting down the passing game and containing NG quarterback will be key. Watauga is a tough place to play, especially this time of year, them mountain boys a little different with that kind of weather. Give me Watauga by 3.
Usually around 5 to 5:30pm the roads start getting slick when you have weather up here. During the day the roads stay pretty good. It’s says a chance of freezing rain in the evening. So anything around the blue ridge parkway is where it gets icy.

It’s part of their home field advantage this time of year. Let them play if they want to, they earned it.
I know I wouldn’t want to be climbing up an icy mountain. On the other hand watching a game in the snow would be lot of fun.

Unlike the "off the mountainers" the mountain counties dont panic and handle road conditions very well. At the first sign of snow clouds, charlotte meck and Guilford County shut the doors and run for cover. In Watauga, its typically business as usual. Keep your panties on, the roads will be passable.
If they cancel school, I don't think Guilford Co allows extracurricular activities after school. They might cancel school Friday just from weather forecast.
As long as 421 is good towards Wilkes shouldn't be an issue for Guilford coming or going.
So I'm guessing this is as far as Watauga has come since the late 70's State Champ team?
I think they made a regional final a couple of years ago. Maybe lost to Weddington (not sure if that was who beat them then).
I think they've played in the Western Finals under Habich
'07 and '08 they hosted. Lost in the regional in 2019
