IF Pritchett were to enter the portal he would be one of the top guys in the portal with lots of suitors. It’s pretty damned tough for a 7 win team to get first year left tackles on conference lists in the B1G. Which of Oregon’s OSU’s PSU’s, Iowa’s’ Michigan’s, Indiana’s etc etc OTs is he taking votes from. He got better as the season progressed. Clearly our most talented O lineman.

Some of us aren’t quite as far out on the plank as you though. It works both ways and neither position is unquestionable.
The portal and unlimited player movement have killed it.

It always was going to be a small recruiting class this year dictated by the roster numbers. Nebraska has one of they youngest rosters and there's limited room.
We even actually landed a ton of them under BC
Disagree. That should be done on a case by case basis. 2nd year two deep would have eliminated a lot of Husker All-Americans.
USC has a roster of 105 i bet, and they will also bring in portal guys.. and yet they still managed to sign a couple more guys than us… a total of 35, to our 10
They have the #1 class, and there are several others that brought in 30+
One school wants to win, another school gives extensions to .500 coaches(or worse)
If we don’t bring in like 12-13 guys from the portal, and i am talking P4 level starters and G5 all conference players… then you know we are in for a slew of 4-6 win seasons tops

The loss to Minnesota HAD to cost us guys.
It used to be players are taking up scholarships being unproductive and riding the bench but now when they are unproductive they do all that and also get paid a lot of money. So yeah, lets call it for what it is: pay for performance. Those not performing need to move on.

What was Ameer ranked as a RB? How about Emmet Johnson? Not being a smart ***. I’m not sure where you find the numbers. Ives was a last minute reach. I’m surprised he was ranked that high.
Ashton Jeanty was ranked anywhere from 29 to 90+ depending on which ranking service you looked at. 247 Composite had him at #89. 3 or 4 star. Which service are you using for our RBs?
just found Rule. #43 and #44 by on3 and 247. 247 composite is different. Not sure why the numbers vary so much.
EJ. 68 and 76 by on3 and 247. Unranked by EsPN. 3 star.
Parker #24 4 star by on3. #26 by 247. ESPN 4 star.

Ameer was a 4 star by 247 sir. I don’t think you can find much rivals stuff anymore but due shot up hard his sr year. We thought we’d lose him to auburn but most loved him at DB

Understand what composite means.
The problem with composite is some services are just bad so they give players better rankings and some services don’t update. So if a kids SR film sucks, they don’t update for that. 247 rankings seem to be the best

I see NU as a missed step or two away from being a potential 3-9 or 4-8 next season. Regardless of DR returning or not, the potential loss of EJ through a draft entry or portal loss, the potential for Pritchett to declare or even enter the portal again, and if Matt misses on the "bigs" for both OL and DL, I say NU is gonna get its a*s handed to it next year.Solely based on the number of high schoolers signed in the early period. This year with DR, EJ and Pritchett only helped NU to 7 wins in a totally pud schedule.
We're likely to have some surprise portal entries with some kids who are contributors already, then we have to replace proven talent with unknowns.
I don't have a warm and fuzzy feeling on the future of this program. The best hope is Stewart is levels above Matt in player retention or releases, pay scales, and actual on the field, proven talent. If Stewart is a dud...

My bottom line is that we need immediate help and high schoolers aren’t going to give it. We have to plug gaps created by Frost’s dismal last 3 years and Rhule’s reaches in his first class. Parker and Rule are both legit RB recruits. Heck Nelson was a legit guy. Jeanty was the #89 composite guy who went to Boise.
