Based off this data, here are your best bang for your buck matchups:

Brevard vs Maiden
Reidsville vs West Craven

I don't know how many times teams with the same mascot have faced off in a regional finals game but this seems like it's probably the first.

Extra Information:

Maiden to Brevard = 120 Miles (approximately 2 Hour trip)
West Craven to Reidsville = 206 Miles (approximately 3 Hour 10 Minute trip)

Forecast for Brevard, NC:
Day - Occasional light rain (70% chance precipitation). High of 42F. Winds around 4 mph.
Night - Occasional rain (43% chance precipitation). Low of 37F. Winds around 4 mph.

Forecast for Reidsville, NC:
Day - Snow showers changing to rain as day progresses (60% chance precipitation). High of 36F. Winds around 5 mph.
Night - Light freezing rain (54% chance precipitation). Low of 30F. Winds around 1 mph.

Forecast not looking good ... I know NCHSAA doesn't want to move games to weekend (forecast not much better Saturday anyway) ... is there any chance of playoff games moving to Thursday? It happens quite often in regular season.
Probably need to make decision by Tuesday?

Forecast for Saturday is actually much better.

I would say me too but I go to Arkansas every year to watch my cousins kids play. They are in Springdale not far from Missouri. They go to the private school that Gus Malzahn and Eli Drinkwitz and Rhett Lashlee were at. They got facilities nicer than some colleges.

Thursday would suck for our fans and the players that have school the next day. I thought the home team made this call? You guys ain’t scared to play us in the snow are you?

Home team does not make this call. The NCHSAA does. I suspect the Rams would love to play your guys in a hurricane or snowstorm if that is the call.

They can't play Saturday because there appears to be some unknown rule that there has to be a minimum of 7 days before Reidsville plays in the State Championship game.:cool:o_Oo_Oo_O:cool:

The basketball (and other sports) playoffs are played on weekday nights so the NCHSAA officials obviously don't care about students missing school the next day. Similar kind of travel time involved.

Game time for Reidsville hosting West Craven is 7 pm Thursday. NCHSAA set the precedent by scheduling one of the championship games for 8 p.m. Thursday, Dec. 11, in Chapel Hill.

Have other games been changed?
