This is the year to get a high profile job. There will be alot of assistant coaches getting an opportunity
The guys getting these SEC jobs like Florida,Ole Miss, Kentucky,Auburn, ect are virtual no-names.
Not saying they cannot succeed but it does give Iowa fans a preview of our own search when the inevitable kf retirement day does come.
It could feel like the 70's again at Iowa...taking a shot with lautebar,comings,nagel,ect...starting the revolving door syndrome again like MSU, Nebraska,Wis, PU are now experiencing..not looking forward to that.

If there are any "big names" available when KF retires, I don't really want one. I'd rather get someone that wants to BECOME a big name - at Iowa.
Kentucky is obviously a "blue blood" basketball school. I would not have been shocked if they allocated more than 40% to basketball.
It's coming and everyone knows it. Once KF leaves, the good ole boy B10, will not have a reason to give Hawks the yearly easy conference schedule, with little travel, and 1 penalty a game favors.
Extend KF, just stand him up over there if you have too, or it's Wisconsin and Nebby, here we come.
Went to 247 sports and they had updated NCAA College Football NIL for 2025. Kentucky was listed at #18 spending $11.2 million by comparison Iowa was listed at #21 spending $9.6 million.

Yup. Iowa's only chance is to clone KF cuz Iowa never did have no football until the Mighty KF and his big-brained Brian showed up in Iowa City. There was no Howard Jones, no Forest Evashevski, no Hayden Fry. KF built Iowa football from dust, just like the Big Coach in the Sky who created the heaven and the earth all by himself. There's him, and there's KF. Same say they are one and the same.

Why did Hayden Fry not reel off undefeated seasons? Was he a bum like KF ?
If that's accurate, yeah. Don't want to see anyone crying poor about Iowa and the NIL if their budget is nearly top 20 nationally. No reason they can't be competitive.. at least a Top 20-25 program minimum. Same goes for Kentucky.

I’m not sure if you’ve been paying attention all these years of Kirk’s tenure, but he’s got some incredible coaches on his staff. Who do things the right way. Wallace and Parker especially would be solid replacements for KF with proven years in coordinator roles.
