So if Georgia beats Bama, Bama misses the playoffs again, right?
I don't know. I watched Sark campaigning for his team to be selected for the CFP after their big win over A&M. The bottom line is he doesn't want the Longhorns to be downgraded for having 3 losses because they were tough enough to go play in Columbus when no other team would. He wants all to have amnesia when it comes to that game. OK, can we also forget three of his Longhorns' wins were against San Jose State, UTEP and Sam Houston that have a combined record of 7-29? Plus, they lost to Florida

For the most part, Texas struggled almost all year. They only beat OKLA, VANDY AND A & M.

Their losses were to OSU, FLA and GA. With the exception of Fla, those are the quality of teams they're gonna face in the CFP regardless. All 3 losses were on the road and if TX made the playoffs they would be on the road.

There are 19 teams this year with 2 losses or less. TX doesn't deserve a spot in the CFP IMO.

Bama is out with 3 losses unless some really weird stuff happens, I would imagine, but I don't even know what that weird stuff would be.
UT has no chance, 3 losses and 2 OT games.

I thought they had stated the conference championships wouldn’t penalize a team with a loss?

You realize there are different rules for OSU, TX, BAMA, GA, MICH and a couple other teams, right?
Agree - but I thought it has been stated by the playoff committee that they wouldn’t knock someone out of the playoffs by losing in a conference championship game. Would be insane in this instance for Bama to get knocked out and replaced by a Texas for instance.

No Bama is in . The committee said teams will not be penalized for losing in the Conference championship game.

If that were the case, other than CFP seeding, what would even be the point to playing conference championship games? (Other than the money).

Texas/OSU is a home and home series with OSU playing in Austin next year. Texas wouldn't schedule a one and done. OSU wanted a night game with Texas this year but Texas refused.

Alabama is already in. They have stated at nauseam that they will not punish a team for playing in an extra championship game. The only thing it can change is the seeding of Georgia and Alabama.

Gotta admit I'm pretty interested in the OSU/Indiana game. Heaven help me but my miserable jealous beeyotch of a soul will be rooting for OSU. I just want happy football fans to be sad like me. Burn it all down!
