I’m not talking about the leaving for more money part. I’m talking about the taking his staff with him part. How can you say that? He’s doing what is best for his bank account. Period. He’s winning at Ole Miss already.

Based on what?
He’s a fool. They would have built statues to him in Ole Miss. I’ll bet he’ll be fired at LSU by year 5.Nope, by all accounts, Ole Miss was matching every penny that LSU was offering. He left because he thinks he can win more at LSU.
What do you mean? Based on them paying the buyout to fire Brian Kelly because he wasn't getting it done to their expectation levels and backing up the brinks trucks to hire their first choice of the guy who they think can. What part don't you get?
We’ll see how it works out for them. It hasn’t worked lately for UF or FSU.What do you mean? You said he would probably get it done and my question is based on what?

Yep went all in on who was number one of there board and got the deal done. Jealous…. NU extremely overpaid for a reality show preacherOh, gotcha. Based on the fact that he has Ole Miss in the playoff I guess. Hell, I don't know if he will. I just know LSU knew what they wanted and took their shot and got it done. Aka big boy football
And didn't USC fire him and leave him at the airport? haha

Aka big boy football. You know, pretty much the opposite of giving an extension to someone who's obviously NOT getting it done.
Good point.Maybe. There's also a good chance he'll be in the title game next year. He'll essentially have 2 full good to great SEC rosters to keep the best of the best from. Think about that for a second![]()
I just think it was classless to do this to Ole Miss especially IF they matched the offer.I’m an ole Miss fan, too. He can do whatever he wants. It may pay off and it may backfire but this is the business. And frankly, he deserves it. He did a hell of a job building Ole Miss into a perennial power. I can’t root for lsu and I wish he would have stayed but he controls his destiny and unfortunately, the timing of this thing couldn’t have been worse. But again, that’s how this works.
Hopefully Weis stays too. Their offense was bad ***
He said it himself, he can go from them being scared that he will leave to wanting him fired in one week. He wasn't hot **** until Ole Miss started winning recently and was basically a qb injury away from being fired. The sport is just sick from top to bottom.Yes, and no. Don’t for a moment think these guys are unaware of the landscape of college football. You’re basically coaching one year at a time. The team has done so well that those guys are all very employable.
Please tell us the alternative....wouldn't it be classless to take a job at LSU and not do his best to win at LSU?Totally classless move. Thats what you get with the Lane Train.
They should extend his contract now to keep him here.I'm hearing Rhule to Ole Miss....

While I agree, if you really look at Ole Miss history, they have sucked.I like Lane as a coach, but hes never won a conference title or played for one and it blew me away when they stated that the win over Oklahoma was his first over a ranked opponent on the road in 6 years at Ole Miss. I think LSU is thinking Lane is something he hasn't proven to be as of yet.

He was at FAU before Ole Miss hired him. Then you do this to them? Please tell us the alternative....wouldn't it be classless to take a job at LSU and not do his best to win at LSU?
You hired a mercenary. What did you expect?

I always tell my son, in athletics, loyalty is spelled m-o-n-e-y.He was at FAU before Ole Miss hired him. Then you do this to them?
