In the three trophy games after ISU, Iowa won all 3 by a combined score of 117-19. Dominated all three teams!

So we crushed our 3 border rivals, each of which only have one P-5 team while Iowa has 2 to compete for talent in a state of just 3M population, compared to the 6M in Minnesota and Wisconsin. That's actually what's kind of incredible...
We are now a better program than Wisconsin and have been for the last 5 years but prior to that and since Alvarez took over we were probably slightly behind. It's nice dominating our rivals.

Figure Iowa has basically dominated Wiscy 3 of the last 4 decades-ish. the 2010s were a lost decade.
Yes, and that's great. Congrats to the Hawkeyes for that. But the reality also is this: Iowa is 0-13 vs. ranked teams. If it could have split the 4 ranked games this season, Iowa would be on its way to the CFP. So, as has been the case too often over the last two decades, Iowa was good . . . but not good enough. So, so close . . . Another season of what might have been.

Alvarez was an incredible coach. Won 3x the Rose Bowls than Fry and KF combined! at Wisconsin, he won 3 Rose Bowls. KF couldn't win one in 27 years and never will now!
What Iowa football could had been if Barry wouldn't had left to be DC at Notre Dame and replaced Fry in mid-90's. Big whiff there.
