Word on the street is that we are going to Tampa.

THEREFORE, I will do my civic duty and provide periodic seismicity reports.

The mighty 83Hawk, once again, will provide Monster Threat advisories.

I am confident that oldbbcoach will provide accurate weather forecasts again.

Gentlemen, I for one appreciate all your hard work. You know all of us at Hawkeye Report will be counting on you. Try to stay mostly sober over the holidays- even when dealing with extended family.

In the spirit of Preparedness, I have determined that there was a Magnitude 3 quake on the South side of Tampa Bay 9-4-1905 and a Magnitude 4 quake at nearby Lakeland Florida 11-6-1978. This, of course, confirms that there is a nonzero chance of a strong quake like the Magnitude 6 one that occurred in NW Florida in 1780.

For what it's worth (Buffalo Springfield, c.1967), my staff are monitoring the recent Magnitude 7.6 quake affecting Japan.
While it is unlikely that it will trigger our Mid-Continent Rift to reactivate, one never knows.

So as not to be a slacker, I do have a seismicity hazard to report.
Within the last 24 hours, there have been 3 2.2 to 2.8 magnitude quakes in Puerto Rico.
Since that is only @1200 miles from Tampa, it bears watching.
Hopefully, there won't be a "ripple effect" of quakes to the NW near/at game time.
It would be very unfortunate if Raymond James Stadium collapsed into a crater.

Comrades (and nonComrades):

This seismicity report thread needs a more descriptive title.
THEREFORE, consult the new thread titled "Tampa Seismicity Alerts" for ongoing updates.
