Been thinking on this in tree while watching that cow horn go by, no I don’t have a life…

I wondered about not trying the FG at the end there, but I figured the coach was like , well they havent stopped our run game all night
Williams #24 for us grew up from a soph tonight.. it was like a switch flipped..... He made some great plays tonight especially the 4th quarter

Twas a fine high school game. Thought ER QB’s throw on 4th down when they were down by TD late in 4th was a BB. Receiver either catches it or it’s tattooed on his chest. Then they went for two and wasn’t quite as successful.

Great win. You guys make sure to send nice Christmas cards to the ER coaching staff for not kicking the FG. In the end, the Shelby defense made the play they had to get the W.
Golden scoop comes through again. Ya'll been less vocal this year, but if this is true then you're clutch.
Even if ER wanted to score 6, they should have AT LEAST lined up in field goal formation and faked it. That might have worked better

The Homer announcers make it seem lot worse. Lot of questionable calls going against Shelby when they made a stop. I know if MA got called for 20 penalties against 4 be some hell raising
The referees were NOT from Eastern Randolph…
♂In the third and fourth rounds, referees are imported from outside both teams areas. Home team wasn’t happy with all the conferences after each play either. Wasn’t near every play but I was right beside the unsportsmanlike thrown on defensive back after ER 2 point conversion failed. Referee warned him three times to quit talking smack. He didn’t stop and finally threw flag. Know that wasn’t on any broadcast but I was twenty feet away and heard most of it. Not defending the rest of the calls but that one was justified.
Why does Shelby want/need an investigation? Which team won?

If you get flagged once for hand gesture for first down it shouldn't happen again. Some refs allow it .
Game should had been at 21+ win for Shelby. Referees absolutely ruined the game. I counted 3 turnovers on downs that were overturned for some fantum call. All the calls resulted in TDS for ER. Great season ER. Not a bad team at all. Receivers and QB are ballers
Thanks for the team compliments. Think SL was more impressed with offensive line and two bruising running backs. As I stated the referees were interesting to both teams. Not sure why Shelby should have won by 21+ in your opinion but ok. And if ER punches the ball in the two times they were stopped on the goal line by Shelby in the last five minutes then the conversation about refs might be more valid. Shelby won the game. To quote a much more famous person than myself “You play to win the game”
I thought ER was stronger in several spots and evenly matched teams. On a warm night it may have benefitted Shelby with passing game. Weather may have came in to play for ER not kicking field goal. If I were Shelby fan feel lucky to get win and move on. Spend all week working on run defense.
Ok this, hopefully, will be my last post on this subject but I would be remiss if I didn’t address the subject.
Shelby High School penalties in games that starters actually played most of the game:
Eastern Randolph 17
Mt Airy 6
Lincolnton. 13
Burns. 14
Crest. 8
Kings Mountain. 12
Against Cherryville the Lions were assessed
13 penalties in a 62-0 game. Against Stuart W Cramer in a 50-29 win 18 penalties for 192 yards.
Those are the games I could find penalty results in box scores from Maxpreps. Not sure about the rest of schedule because only individual statistics were provided.
In 6 of the games there are double digit penalties with the most being in Stuart Cramer game.
Any one else see a pattern?

The problem is u giving out what calls been giving to Shelby but not other team.
In all those game both teams were with in 4 5 fouls apart.
Not a 20-4 and 3 of 4 calls were fall starts...
Give me a break..

Hardly ever does the coach lose the game for you. But ER coach lost that game

Not quite all within 4 or 5. My point was that quite often Shelby commits penalties in double digits. Someone asked my opinion on ER discipline earlier in this thread and I commented that was what I liked about this team. Most of their games under 5 penalties per game. Sorry just the way they were.
As I have said countless times, it was a great high school football game.

I also met Mock, and in all respect not real social guy, at least to us when team arrived....
Maybe not a big deal I just expected a nicer welcome....oh well!!

We had buses, but brought some of equipment like kicking net in my truck he seem to be more worried about someone trying to get in without paying..lol
And its 5.30 and we are all with team.
Then my associate ask if they were going use a Gator or something to help carry stuff to sideline and he pretty much flew off about it saying we didnt
request it...
But dang thats long way to carry stuff from busses...and we were then told we get help after game, but we knew that wasn't happening...it is what it is...good luck next year, maybe u get to visit Shelby
