She's obviously pressing a bit.
Give her some time.
Once she finds her role she will be really good.
Watched some video today. Pressing is the right word. Very good athlete with great moves inside. She will get in the flow more. Likes to dribble drive, needs to kick out more instead of always taking contested shots. FWIW, she can become one of our go to players because of her athleticism. I think back on Caitlin driving the lane and hitting Kate or Gabby on the wings for three. Once Emily adds that skill set, she'll be a complete player.

Go back and look through the timeline my man. Once the game got close and we started shitting the bed people started complaining about the refs losing a 10-12 pt lead is not the refs fault. We were choking but luckily we held on and got the win. Because that might have ended up being a bad loss by the end of the year.
Timeline of what, the game thread? Im sure there was bitching about the refs in that thread, every game thread has that. This thread isn’t that and i saw like 1 post mention refs here. Maybe you posted in the wrong thread 🤷‍♂️

Davidson is not a bad team.
Yep. They are a program on the rise.

Last Spring, Steph Curry and Matt Berman set up an 8 figure NIL fund to go to Davidson's men's and women's basketball.

Steph is serving as the voluntary Assistant GM for both men's and women's programs.

(Poor Virginia Tech probably kicking themselves because that is where he wanted to go...😖😅)

Iowa played cupcakes which most teams do early on. She looked good in those games but when the competition ramped up she struggled. Hopefully she grows out of these last two bad games because the Big Ten won’t be any easier when conference play starts.
I believe she will be fine and am looking forward to watching her progress

Emely recruited by UConn for a reason....Hope Jan doesn't lose faith in her. I think limiting substitutions is best, but she needs to be in that top 7 or 8 and get more minutes. IMO

Talking about down the road, not yesterday or last week.

Baylor had to go to OT, on a neutral court, to beat Davidson.

They might be a top 5 team in a crappy Big12.

Nearly everyone here wants the same thing...a successful Iowa WBB season.
Hays and Stremlow are very competent players off the bench.
Can Rodriguez, Deal, and/or Houston join them?
Deal is making big time progress in my opinion.

When Emely and Chit Chat get back (not to mention Teagan) who are the main players losing a lot of playing time? We want them both in but who sits?

I am trying to be patient. I think this year's team has good potential, but it is 2027-28 that we have the potential to be great because of the experience all this talent is getting. I think that Jan has assembled most of the pieces; now I am hoping that she can mold them into a successful team. Bluder did it by surrounding Clark with good-enough players. Jensen may not have a generational talent, but she I think that she has assembled a good enough team to make me happy. I hope/believe she can coach them into a serious contender for regular season/tourney conference champs and elite 8/

We can debate for weeks how to distribute the minutes, but, IMO, the big picture this year is we need Deal, Hays, Rodriquez, and Houston on the court to reach our potential.

A solid majority of the best teams in the country last year had 9-10 players get 10 or more minutes a game. UConn had 10. Last year we only had 8 players getting more than 10 minutes - Jan moved Hannah to the 5 and shortened the bench. Don't think that can work this year. When Chit Chat gets back we have Stremlow, Deal, Hays, Rodriquez, and Houston coming off the bench. I count 10 players that we must rely on for both this year and developmentally for next year.

I doubt Hays can out-perform Heiden, but in any given game, Deal, Stremlow, Rodriquez, or Houston could easily out-play one of the starters. The minutes might just be a game to game thing.

Slight nit pick here since I've seen this multiple times from people: It's Rodriguez, not Rodriquez. In Spanish, when a G followed directly by a I or an E, it's pronounced as a soft G (H sound in English.) The U after the G (gue or gui) keeps the G as a hard G sound and you don't actually pronounce the U at all.

It appears Wright is the closest of the three to return, though Jensen still labeled her as day-to-day following Wright’s hard fall at the WBCA Showcase on Nov. 20.

“It’s more day-to-day because you have all the protocols that you have to do,” said Jensen, who previously said they’ve been monitoring Wright’s head, shoulders and back. “But we’re really not that far out (from when the injury happened). It was eight or nine days (ago) that we had the mishap.

"We’re waiting on some results for Emely, and then Teagan is looking pretty good," Jensen said. “I think she’s feeling a little more energetic, so we’ll hopefully get a little practice with her tomorrow. Either one, Emely or Teagan, I don’t think they’re ready for full combat yet, but we can work in a little bit with some shooting. At least Teagan, not sure about Emely.”

The Hawkeyes don’t play again until their Dec. 6 Big Ten opener at Rutgers. The extra time between now and then should give all three at least a chance to return against the Scarlet Knights.

If anyone was close, then I would have thought they might have at least suited up last game.
