“We get Maishe Dailey” Just classic! Still hard to comprehend how bad Fran was at recruiting guards.
Measuring stick game for both programs I think. Neither team has played much of a schedule to date. I'm not going to overreact to the outcome of the game, but I'll definitely be a bit less hyped about the rest of the season if they come out and lay an egg. I don't think they will though, mostly because this team can get stops when they need to, which is weird to say about an Iowa team.
Guessing Trey is redshirting.
Ben McCollum on whether redshirting is on the table for Trey Thompson:
"I don’t think we rule anything out at this point. I think he needs to continue to plan as though he is going to play. But you also don’t want to all the sudden come in and you're up 20 against a team and you put him in for a minute and there goes his year of eligibility. And then let’s say, you get into Big Ten play and he’s not totally ready or hasn't beaten certain guys out. I have no concerns he’s going to beat guys out. I have no concerns that he’s going to play and be a really good player in the Big Ten. Zero concern with that. It’s a matter of when, not all of that. So, we’re just a little more cautious with that.”

ugh, this is a close'ish game which means the last 2 minutes is going to take 30 minutes. I absolutely hate what they've done with the last 2 minutes of games now.
Howard's being a bit shaky with ball-handling as of late cost him a starting spot.

I can't remember, was Iowa's participation in this Acrisure Series determined before or after McCaffery's dismissal?
Wish I lived in Hawaii, then it'd be like a 3 or 4:40p tip.
It was a great game. Came down to the wire of 'we don't know' to 'check back in a couple hours'.
