As if things couldn't get worse, Sabonis will be out 3-4 weeks with a partially torn meniscus. Kangz lose 137-96 to Memphis as Sabonis didn't play. Keegan had 11/3 in his first game back from injury. It'll take time for him to get back to game shape, but good for him! :)
Edit: Sabonis was ruled out for this game. I erroneously said he did.

Hate to suggest it but an unintentional tank is likely for kings in rugged West.
Top 2 picks are difference makers...KU guard Petersen and Utah forward.

After losing 8 games straight, Sac beats Denver on their floor 128-123. Keegan had 19/5 and 2 steals in 37 minutes. He shot 50% on 7-14 and 3-8 from 3.
Tough week for nugs losing to bulls and kings in Denver.
Keegan makes a difference?

Defensively for sure. If he can throw in say 15/game, it would really help. Last night, the Kangz had, I believe 6 players in double figures. They need consistency to make believers out of their fans. And, that means effort and results.

Team is 5-17. Season is toast. I believe Doug is going to focus on getting the young guys more PT. Look for trades before the Trade Deadline. I feel bad for Keegan as he will be here for the roster rebuild. But, at least he signed a nice extension. Man, the damage Monte' McNair did while he was GM. Scott Perry has his work cut out for him. Not sure if Doug has been given a pass for this year. I know he signed a 2 year/2 mil/yr contract, so getting off of him won't cost anything. Sad situation.

In the West they can tank without even looking like it. Top of draft is strong with Peterson (KU).the Utah stud, dybanta,or boozer.

Hate to see the kings fans have to once again take that pain...they love their kings.

Just 3 seasons ago, in the 2023 playoffs, the Kings were the #3 seed (where they ended a 16-season playoff drought that began in 2006). They were eliminated in the 1st round 4 games to 3 by the #6 seed Golden State Warriors.

The Kings supposedly were going to build off of that success and make a run at a championship. Instead, they are a mess...again.

Speaking of Golden State (now 11-12), this is how they lost tonight; Golden State has now lost 6 of their last 8 games.

Heat surprised by kings in Miami.
Keegan has 16 pts,4rb.
Lavine w 42pts.
Good on Keegan (again). LaVine is "Mr. Inconsistent". A fan even got into a verbal altercation with him and the fan, a long time season ticket holder was ejected from the G1C. He was reinstated right after the incident, after calling out LaVine for not delivering.

As a Bulls fan, very familiar with Zach.
Good talent, but his teams do not win.
Maybe a bad coincidence...but a fact

Keegan had himself a game vs the Rockets as the Kings win in OT at G1C. Here's Matt:

I agree with Matt.

Keegan has started last 3 games hot, and then they stop looking for him on offense. Too much isolation. Same thing happened last night as Keegan had big 1st quarter and then was quiet until early 4th quarter when they were down 14 and then Keegan hit 4 shots in row, 2 of which were 3's but then over last 4 min of game and all 5 min of OT he had just 1 shot attempt. Now, i do give Houston some credit as they stuck on him after his spurt a bit tighter but they just set him on the wing and let DeRozan go ISO. But Keegan had himself a very efficient game last night

26 points on 9-14 shooting of which 3-4 from three and 5-5 from the line

did good job making Durant work for his points (24 pts on 8-21 shooting 3-9 from three and 5-6 FTs)

I think that the young guys they have are the foundation for a good rebuild. The experience they are finally getting will ultimately pay dividends. I'm really hoping Keegan can get some consistency with his 3. He's already great on Defense. Matt said a couple of times in earlier pods that Keegan should be on the list for Defensive POY. I agree.

I do remember those discussions. They were cellar dwellers for a long time. Now, they have the best record in the Eastern Conference at 24-6. It took Cade Cunningham a long time to develop and get the surrounding cast that he has today, including the addition of Jaden Ivey, who has been bitten by the injury bug during most of his short career. Luka averaged nearly 6 points and 3 rebounds in his one and only season there in '21-22 in Detroit.

Ivey is looking like a semi-bust at this point.

The big 3 outta the BIG that year was Keegan, Ivey and the whisky kid.

Not sure if whisky kid is in league but Keegan is translating to NBA the best
