Kiffin has 2 of the top 5 jobs in America wanting him. He wants to go to one of them but also wants to finish the season with this team. Not sure why it's so hard for ole miss fans to see this.
Overall, they are acting like a lot of our fans with Mullen. Fans want 100% loyalty. Not 99%. You either confess your undying love to us or hit the road.

If nothing else, it's got to be a distraction for him and his players.

wow....that is a really good article, pin pointing the path of Kiffen through the years

I still think he stays in Oxford

but if he does leave, I can't help be forecast that it will not go well for him

Oh it will go well. Either way. The numbers in this next contract, wherever it is, is going to be ridiculous. He (and sexton) is going to want a buyout that would make Jimbo Fisher jealous.

Now, forgive me, I do agree there.....the money potentially involved, will go well (although something tells me that buyouts will be much less) for Sexton and Kiffen if it does go down.

The reason I say it will not go well is the expectations with that kind of money involved will bring a new level of pressure, and potential interruptions to a coach trying to fulfill his obligations. I think it would take a profound "dictator" style attitude by a coach to handle these expectations, and not sure Kiffen can stand that ground

With Mullen - it made sense. This is like Mullen leaving in the middle of the 2014 season while we were #1 in the country. Ole Miss will be making the playoff unless they lose Friday. With that being said, they ain't making the playoff.

I wouldn't say it made sense, but of course, it will make sense to some.
Trying to justify or quantify fanatics' behaviors towards sports ball is futile.

If Lane leaves will the committee penalize OM like they did FSU a couple of years ago when FSU lost their starting QB and got left out of the playoffs?

Their published rules say they will take players AND COACHES not available for the playoffs into account in their selections.
