The simplest explanation is usually correct. I think he wants the LSU job badly. Word gets out and UF takes a shot. Big one. But now he's on the cusp of the playoffs and it's not so easy to leave.

We win, he's gone in less than 12 hours. Probably LSU.

Lose? Going to be a tight 24 hours and all bets are off. He may just end up staying after all.

Rebs are better off him leaving; no matter what he says if he stays, they can't believe him. Then again, they may not care as long as he brings them wins before he leaves for the NFL.

Either way, 17 him. We got a golden (pun intended) opportunity here. Let's go bowling, then bowling again, and let the Rebs worry about life in the fast lane.

PS One benefit - If the Sumrall rumors are true, Cohen is sweating. Might see a double whammy to Stricklin and Cohen which would be nice.

BONUS PS - He stays, wins a playoff game or two, then bolts for the NFL when jobs come open on Black Monday, leaving Rebs stranded. Super nice.

"Golden opportunity" means we absolutely **** the bed. We've been blowing golden opportunities since Bama '14.
You are dumb enough to believe we were as good as bama in 2014 even at home? We lost a game to a better team on the road in the SEC.

I swear some of you couldn't coach a pee wee team and you think you know more than the people making millions.

We outplayed them second half. We came out flat and played catch up the whole game. Not saying we'd have won but there was certainly a chance

The simplest explanation is that he is taking the lsu job. He didn't even try to be discreet because he doesn't give AF about feelings. he made interviewing very public to apply every bit of leverage to the deal as possible.

Also, I don't think he stays at OM. Because the way he has handled this, he won't have all these opportunities again.

I have no doubt that I could have blown wins against TN, Texas, Florida and called 300 QB runs in a row on the goal line vs Missouri****

This is definitely Lane's best opportunity to get the high profile job he wants.

But my sources are saying OM is prepared to match LSU dollar for dollar in salary and NIL if they have to. Dickie, Haley, Mike, Trent, J.B. and the Duff Brothers have committed to keeping the Lane Train in Oxford. They've been dreaming of this opportunity to humiliate their friends on the Bayou.

It's all up to Lane.

The question is will they be able to keep the easiest schedule in the SEC year end and year out.

I just don't believe the Egg Bowl win or loss has any bearing on his decision. You really think he is putting a multimillion million million dollars decision on that one game? I think his decision is made. He is either staying and ******* with everyone and his own fan base or he is gone.
It doesn't. The decision has been made and likely the contract with LSU has been signed.

Of course there was a chance but saying we blew a golden opportunity is dumb AF.

blowing a golden opportunity is having ole miss’ schedule last year and losing to Florida and Kentucky when ole miss had more talent than both teams and much better season.

Not sure what that has to do with Alabama and 2014 Ron but maybe you should go see a doctor about that dementia!
