Speaking of Iowa, did anyone watch Robert Gallery on Bussin with the boys? He said he visited Nebraska, but we never offered him. 
Im not siding with the OP, but the whole "our team is young" is the dumbest argument and I hear it all the time. IT DOES NOT MATTER....because at least half of our best players for next year arent on the team right now, and half of the players we have on our roster that could help us in 2-3 years wont be here at that time.
Then even add that we have no less than 10 scholarship OL with 3+ years in the program, and cant even take a snap. Look at our RB room. Linebacker room....So add developmental questions and potential injuries onto NIL and transfers in and out, and you have the most worthless argument in existence for why being "young" matters.
EJ will have to run wild because Iowa’s defensive scheme will likely shut down Lateef.
Fair enough, but I'm jealous of what Alvarez and what Ferentz have done with their teams. It's a foundation for continued success that we have not sniffed in a long while. We need to develop our young talent inside the trenches rather then skirt chase all of the country trying to fix it.
If HCMR can't beat Iowa this year given where both teams are currently, he never will.

Marginal, I don't know man. We are 59-71 since joining the Big Ten and haven't had a winning record in conference since 2016. We are below the margin in my opinion. Bottom half to bottom third of the conference. It's pathetic. Rhule is 10-16 overall in conference play.
I agree with you. I fundamentally despise the NIL era of the game....nobody probably cares, but I do.
I agree with you a second time anyway, and I would just say that we have a ton of OL bodies, who were valued signees, and I think they, and us, will get a better return with a new coach vs more time. If you go through our roster, its sickening how many of those key names we heard about on signing day, that are still here waiting 2-3-4 years later with no real game snaps. They dont need more time, IMO. They need a coach to elevate them to the playing field. Both literal depth chart wise and definitely developmentally
Sure seems like something happened that hasn’t been made public. I don’t know who their heavy hitter boosters are but it makes me think Franklin must have pissed someone off badly.
We’re pot committed now to Rhule more even than before. We’re married to him for at least 4-5 more years so whether you like it or not, you’re going to get to see if he can develop those recruits…or not. His first class was a last minute gap filler. This last class especially has some dudes who I believe will be pretty good. All we can do is wait and see. In fact our roster is very young.
losing by a couple point early in the season to oregon doesn't take one out of a NC race..but losing to northwestern at home seems like the players quit on Franklin..because they seem more talented then that

The right coach will get it done. Mike Riley was a massively stupid hire, Scott Frost was just bad luck, and now Rhule is showing why nobody else was after him after Carolina. Bo for all his faults had us finish ranked more often than not, and that wasn’t THAT long ago. We need to have some self respect, stop with the Nebraska Nice, and demand results.

We are young only when you include the 3rd through 5th stringers. If you limit it to the the 2-deep, we are not young. The fact we have bunch of young guys that can’t play is not the flex some think it is.
And how about the land speed record on the post game presser. Rhule wanted the **** outta Dodge.
Not an excuse, just the truth. We had a lot of freshman playing against a team that was loaded two deep with talent and finally correcting the ship. Most of the expierence we had playing we've complained about for a few years. Rhule has the money now he didn't have so need to see what he can do with it. I think the O-line and D-line coaches need to be questioned though.
Fire the coach and your starting from scratch with the players and recruits you'd lose. Three years later you'd be calling for the same thing because your impatients would repeat when the team isn't exactly where you deamed it should be.
In my opinion, MCMR could be the guy. IF he grows a pair of balls, makes the staff changes that need to be made, by holding each position coach accountable for the results of their unit. College football is not a fricking frat party. When your paid 8-9 million dollars a year, YOU NEED TO PRODUCE RESULTS. It's a cut throat business. We all know that 2026 is going to be a very challenging year. He better get off his ***, make staff changes, DEMAND that the S & C program be gutted and rebuilt by people who know what they are doing. That means, Don is gone. The D line coach....gone. LB coach...gone. Butler, gone.

We may have a lot of "young players" but if any of them were any good, they would be playing? Saying we have a young team implies that this staff is developing talent, and I simply do not think that is the case. I think we have a roster full of young players who they hope, maybe, possibly could be good players in the future. Sometime. This is how 6-6 teams are built.
Take away Akron and HCU and year 3 looks just like year 1.

Well, according to Rhule, we won the portal this year. Didn’t you see all the portal additions having a great game against PSU?
The fans sticking up for rhule are purely choosing to be optimistic. I’d say we are slightly better than year 1 and only because we have a few more play makers than year one. We are still poorly coached and player development remains non existent. But the fanbase pours in money and it does not matter the season results. There is no conditioning happening. The university gets your money no matter what.
With you besides the part I put in bold. Nebraska HS talent is meh at best. If even 2 of those guys go on to have an All-Conference season at a P4 program, I’ll be shocked.
Also don’t think Bradden should be canned. Maybe after next year, but I can’t justify firing the guy coming in late to a room that’s not his, and coming from the NFL. Though, I have a particular gripe with hiring NFL coaches in this current landscape.

Some are playing on defense. The obvious weak spots are in our lines. It would be questionable at best to throw true or even redshirt freshmen in at DT or O line.
I had the Brahmer kid that plays TE at Iowa State ( he is a beast ) and Oakley that plays TE at K State in the back of my mind as in state talent that got away. Both of those kids could have helped us. I am sure there are more, somewhere. I agree 100% with the NFL coaches statement. It is not working out real well in Boulder ( BAWAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHHAHAH ).
Speaking of Brahmer, any update on him since he got carted off the field a few weeks ago?
I don’t mind us recruiting Nebraska, but a decent faction of our fans act like Nebraska kids are what’s gonna get us back to the national title. This isn’t 1989 anymore. Rhule signed 23 of them his first 3 classes here, what have they done? Largely absolutley nothing. I don’t think stockpiling mid level Midwest talent is the path forward.
You just hit the nail on the head. Nebraska high schools produce some decent tight end’s. And that’s about it.
