It’s encouraging to see them go down like this but a shame they won’t be ranked if we beat them.

I am still concerned watching Altmeyer complete lots of throws just as he’s about to be sacked which we’ve had problems with in other games, getting pressure but not quite getting home.
If we get Hubbard and Saka back I think this concern will be resolved.

Altmeyer is really good but we MUST pressure him. Sacked THIRTY FIVE times this year.

#58 from IL OL got kicked out of the game on back to back personal fouls late in the game, Is that like the targeting where if it happened in second half player has to miss first half of next game?

It is supposed to be frigid sat nite. My bet is that whomever runs better will win. Our line hopefully will play very well again
The offensive line will be the focal point for any chance of victory. Our man Stone needs to replicate yesterday's performance as well. A 8 win season will help out immensely with recruiting.

Definitely the coldest game they have played this year. But I wouldn't call 32 degrees, no rain, frigid. Maybe for the guys on the sideline or the crowd. Could be a small crowd; Thanksgiving weekend, lots of students have gone home.

This would be good for nu players right? Less of a home game advantage? Kind of like a state final hs game feel?

If the Cat's play like they did today. Wisconsin is improving, but still. Altmyer is an elusive QB, the type that can destroy NU--he may be the difference. The Cat's combination of run and passing game, if on, will prevail.
Glad to see you come around to my longstanding position on this.

Newest data indicates Illinois is a team on the decline while NU is playing its best ball

We should be able to run the ball against Illinois. Their defense has looked disinterested for several weeks now. Not sure what is going on with them.

Their running back feasted on us in the last game. If Illinois is able to run the ball, we are in trouble as Altmyer will have options in the passing game. He’s a good quarterback, arguably the fourth best in the conference.

Their defense just isn’t very good. Offense is good but a disappointment.

Their QB is very good. The rest of their offense isn’t. I don’t think there are any draft picks on that offensive roster, outside of maybe a OL and TE that could be end of the draft roll of the dice.

Their D is horrible. They’ve looked awful most of the year, not just last night.

Research shows he (Laughery) is their third string back this year.

I watched their game last night. They played like they did not want to be there. For a nationally ranked team it was embarrassing. They also lost their composure at the end of the game. It will be interesting to see how they play Saturday night.

On which? Illinois is in decline or NU is playing its best ball? Appears to me you haven't been too bullish on the Cats until they beat MN, during the Nebraska, USC, Michigan run.

The key to this game IMO is pressure on Altmyer.

I’ve been quite bullish. I’ve been saying for weeks that people should ca down and realize MN isn’t very good and that we should absolutely beat them. I wasn’t very optimistic about USC, I thought that was the toughest of the last five games on our schedule, but I have consistently said we absolutely have a chance to beat Michigan and Illinois and the Nebraska game was closer to a coin flip. Go check the receipts.
