Couple of game notes here.....13th time Carolina and NW have played (6-5-1 Carolina)....last three were in NCAAT and in 2022 and 2023 Carolina of course won the titles over the Wildcats.

NW had allowed four goals in first Q all season until today

It looks to me like NW thinks they can put pressure on Isabel Boere and force a mistake.

Great quarter — unlike the dook game, UNC has really taken advantage of its opportunities.

Kara Heck credited with the second goal, assist from Boere....took a while for the official scoring to catch up as it looked like Boere's goal from the box....

NW putting tons of stress on the defense but so far no shot on goal. Tar Heel stick is always where it is needed.

NW has trailed 2-3 times at half this season, won all those games...

not only did we score on the 1st PC, but a legit shot to force a save on the other two, much better efficiency.

As others have pointed out our passing is really on point today. Matson said in the preseason that a top focus in the offseason was crisp, one touch passing and it shows. At times UNC is carving the defense in a way that looks like transition even when NW is properly set.

Bent-Cole scares the crap out of me. There’s no one out there with her speed. We have to make sure we keep her from breaking like she did near the end of the 2Q.
