2a playoff, is anyone predicting any upsets this week, or will all the home teams win?

What is HSRatings?

Massey and Simmons will have Starmount favored by double digits.

CSD at Murphy - could go either way but I think I will pick Murphy

Corvian at East Wilkes - Corvian has been exceptional on defense the past 2 seasons. EW loves the run the ball so something will have to give. EW will win if they can run on Corvian

MIC at Mitchell - like Mitchell in this game due to being a physical team

South Stanly at Starmount - a rematch of second round game last year. Starmount has been on a roll in all 3 phases and is tough to beat at SHS

Ok it’s strange that their picks are a lil different. Wonder what goes into their formula
Not sure. I’ve used it for years. It’s normally just as accurate as Massey and Simmons but obviously it’s wrong sometimes. It says 21-20 South Stanly - but you know I’m pulling for the Rams. I was just posting results for debate.

I'm going with Mitchell and Starmount.

East and Murphy in the other bracket. Those 2 games could go just the opposite but I hope not

The Murphy-CSOD game really peaks my interest. Cherokee was probably the best passing team that Murphy played in conference. Murphy handled them easily. Undoubtedly, CSOD is more sophisticated in their attack. Murphy has an above average pass rush. It should be fun to watch. One outlier to watch for it is Murphy has a proclivity to pick up unnecessary penalties. How will the officials let the game be played? Will Murphy be more disciplined? We'll find out.

The other game of t interest to me is EW vs Corvian. EW seems to struggle to throw and defend the pass. If Corvian 's rush defense is disciplined that will make life tough for the Cardinals. I think EW will struggle with defending a seemly balanced attack.

I think it’ll be interesting to see how CSOD handles Murphy. I watched Murphy - Franklin game and Murphy wore down a bigger Franklin line in the 4thQTR and were basically doing whatever they wanted on offense. Has CSOD had to played a legit team that will line it up and run it at them for 4 quarters?

I think the four home teams get the W this week.

CSD at Murphy - I think, Murphy's D is the key to this game. Murphy can bend as long as they don't break.

Corvian at East Wilkes - EW has to control the clock. Low scoring game and EW can get the W.

MIC at Mitchell - Don't think this will be much of a game. Mitchell is too physical.

South Stanly at Starmount - If Starmount puts together another complete game, I don't think this will be close either.

Any info on South Stanly this year. I know they were supposed to return a lot from last year's team. Someone mentioned that their QB is out. I remember him being a good player last year. Any word on that?

What’s the weather looking like out west today? Little rainy here in eastern NC but should clear out before game time tonight.

Rained over night, just cloudy now. I think there is very little chance of anything this evening. Should be a good night for football.

Around a 50% chance of rain around game time tonight in Murphy.

I would imagine that forecast benefits Murphy more than CSOD, but having said that Murphy has had some issues with fumbles at times this year so a slick ball could be detrimental for them as well, who knows for sure.
