It wasn’t going to happen overnight. But, TL seems to be good at selling his Offense, vision of the future of Iowa Hawkeye Football.

Some recruits like the thought of being a part of turning things around. Go get you some, TL!

The offense is a lot more interesting and fun, that's for sure.

Tim can tell WRs that they will be catching TD passes AND throwing TD passes! :)

He turned down some good offers, too.

Check it out here:

Every time someone makes this comment they show their ignorance about football. I have heard Nick Saban and Urban Meyers talk about great wide receiver blocking and I think they know a few things about football. Blocking is as important as catching the football.
It’s just the idiots being idiots.

You know there are typically these players called defensive backs down the field.

If the WR’s don’t block, the RB’s don’t get long runs, TD’s

Great pickup. He’s the type of athlete at WR that Iowa has been missing.

Hecklinski won't need to be paid $1M so maybe the money was applied or will be applied to a WR or two

Sounds like 4 top 300 guys in the fold.
Some hawk "fans" are relentlessly negative at this point..what a shame.
Welcome aboard, Xavier Stinson!
Plus the hawk coaches and system are great at developing 2 star guys to 4 stars and 3 stars to 4 and 5 star guys. We need a burner or a couple of burners at WR like ISM was.

disappointed that no bounces went our way this season but weirdly i am kind of pleased overall with this team...already pumped for next year :)
Looking forward to a new QB who has been in the system and hopefully Rugerio stays onboard if Heck is starter

It’s a running joke here

guess could have gone with “enjoy running wind sprints”

With Iowa and even TL, it’s wait and see

the running game has looked so much better. Even this year without the RBs breaking big runs (MG has tho!) they’ve just manhandled everyone for the most part. It’s our inability to cash in or get the big play….

the passing game. Sorry. Tim has brought in his guys this year and it’s been horrible. Hank Brown looked completely lost for a ******* screen pass

MG cannot make the throw when he has to…

our top WR has 200 yards on the year

Every year we talk about how this WR or that WR gonna put up the numbers and nahhh

The talk this year was when VDZ returns the offense will open up!!! Nope. Dude has like 5 catches

Next year is next year but this is year two of no passing attack

Can our OL block ?
Check our roster for the next couple of years. That's the real question if you look at KF's teams that are even remotely competitive.................

But hey, maybe by Stinson's junior or senior year, we'll have developed another OL worth a sh**.

It's getting better. The cupboard was pretty bare. Our passing game will be better next year.

Have we gotten confirmation his dad has been given an Iowa hat? Na, in all honesty, getting back into Florida for skill guys is a huge win. This receiving core could take a huge step in the next few years with Terrence Smith, Stinson, Vanderzee, and Diondre Smith.

We have zero evidence of that. We brought in a guy who has thrown for 10,000 yards in his career and he will be lucky to hit 1500 for the season. The passing game absolutely did not take a step forward this year.
Even more reason to be skeptical after we were told during Summer camp how much better the receivers looked in year two of the system. The results aren’t proving that out.

I think it was more "wishful thinking".

Can't imagine anyone thought MG was so inept in the passing game.

Unless and until Kirk allows Lester to open up the passing attack, it will continue to suffer.

Last year the WRs had 71 catches for 913 yards and 6 TDs in 13 games.

This year the WRs have 78 catches for 841 yards and 6 TDs in 10 games.

This. Who did we have under BF? Our receivers were leaving for Purdue. One is now getting tons of reps for the Giants.
Our best wide out couldn't even get on the field under Lester because he was too dumb to learn the playbook. Our QBs were held together with tape.

It hasn't been a massive leap, but the WRs have definitely taken a step forward. Numbers are never going to be astronomical because we're a run first offense. This year it feels more like the QB not being able to get them the ball than it does the WRs not being able to get open like the last several years.

KF has always said he wants to be balanced, which doesn’t necessarily have to mean run first. And again, we’re scoring more pts which is kind of the name of the game in the end anyway. But statistically compared to the rest of the league we are still awful in the passing game no matter how you view it. There’s no reason at some point for us to just be 10 or 11 out of all the teams in the league vs last. And next year we break in a completely new QB again.

For sure the passing game is still awful, but there is progress in the 2nd year.
