Penn St says hello. You're digging 100 years back for titles because it’s all you’ve got in this argument. It’s not that I don’t acknowledge them, but accomplishments from an era when 99.9% of people alive today weren’t even born don’t mean much to me.
And be honest with yourself - Wrestletown, USA is in Iowa. Carver is the best wrestling venue on the planet. That isn’t really debatable.
I’ll be at Gallagher in February too. My brother has season tickets, and we’ll have a whole carload of us heading down.
You can't be serious. Have you ever been to BJC? My guess is no lol.Penn St says hello.
Calliendo did nothingMaybe if we have the same officiating crew as today. I guess I misspelled Peterson too at 125 lol.
DeeeeeeeeepIowa getting their **** pushed in early on.
Aside from the takedown in the second period, which they somehow ruled a reversal. Lockett never had control. Anyone who understands wrestling knows that.Calliendo did nothing
Pretty sweet you get to root for tOSU to beat Iowa since Okie State can never seem to do it lol.Deeeeeeeeep
Not many people contested that. Have not seen many contest it online, refs saw it, replay agreed, announcers agreed. But you of all people are the one that’s right.Aside from the takedown in the second period, which they somehow ruled a reversal. Lockett never had control. They never reviewed it - wtf are you talking about? You're thinking of the SECOND ******** takedown awarded to Lockett lol.Not many people contested that. Have not seen many contest it online, refs saw it, replay agreed, announcers agreed. But you of all people are the one that’s right.
Deeeeeeep. Glad they showed up tonight Gonna take a shot or keep standing there and getting it pushed in?Pretty sweet you get to root for tOSU to beat Iowa since Okie State can never seem to do it lol.
You may be right, but you are also still the only person contesting it. No one else has. They never reviewed it - wtf are you talking about? You're thinking of the SECOND ******** takedown awarded to Lockett lol.
And using Shane Sparks' thoughts as assurance isn't the flex you think it is![]()
Oh yeah, I’m the only one challenging it. Catch FRL this week - it’s guaranteed to be a hot topic. You may be right, but you are also still the only person contesting it. No one else has.
the last takedown was reviewed by outside party and deemed a takedown also. Not sure how that one was ********. Having a hold of his head didn’t mean anything when Lockett had a leg in.
dude got pushed by a true freshman, but I’m sure he’s happy you are white knighting for him.
I’m not sure Iowa has a takedown thru 5 matches.Ohio State is taking Iowa to the woodshed tonight.
It happens when the other team doesn’t let them stall and actually takes the action to them. Wish we had everyone doing that without gassing in then2nd period. We only have a couple of guys that can do it right now.Ohio State is taking Iowa to the woodshed tonight.
Bending o_er and just taking it. Nice effort.I’m not sure Iowa has a takedown thru 5 matches.
It’s why Bassett and Miller were terrible fits for Iowa. Such a weird original commitment. It happens when the other team doesn’t let them stall and actually takes the action to them. Wish we had everyone doing that without gassing in then2nd period. We only have a couple of guys that can do it right now.
Nothing that happened today changed my confidence in OSU wrestling or anything else. OSU is still the better team and is miles ahead as a program (and pulling away further every day). It was a good day for Iowa. They wrestled hard and pulled off several upsets.Dee was given 2 very questionable calls on takedowns. Ronnie backed up for 5 minutes. And Iowa won FF hwt . It's early in the year but all you guys should slow the we are the best team around talk. FYI D1 wrestling is hard this should ego check many of you posters
I believe Iowa and Osu have won the same number of ncaa titles this century.Been there - cool spot. Doesn’t change the fact your fanbase is still clinging to titles from a century ago to try and flex on Iowa.
I’d much rather watch my alma mater win 16 titles in my lifetime than brag about something that happened 60 years before I was born. But hey, you do you lol.
It's the last chance they have to use it. It's like the penny. Why do they keep saying Caliendo is ranked 2nd![]()
I just watched the replay of the Cowboys-Iowa dual. Big dual and Spratley got upset. He had the lead with 12 seconds left on the edge of the mat and has his leg and alls he needs to do is hold his position and hold Petersons leg. Peterson is in the splits sort of and Spratley loses his grip and focus on the leg, freezes and Iowa spins around for the takedown with a few seconds left in the match. Very poor loss. Ramirez gets a takedown early and hold on to the 3rd period. He gave up 2 stalling points in the 3rd to force overtime and he got taken down. Impressive match by Ramirez but he needs to get a little stronger and a little tougher. I would wrestle Ramirez this year and then redshirt him and have Jax wrestle 33 next year. Vega looked like he was going to lose in the 3rd period and Bailey had Vega's leg up in the air, but Vega got his leg loose, shoots and scores the winning takedown. Vega beats another All American. Swiderski gets the 1st takedown but then loses 5 to 0 and loses another match. Robideau wins a major against Voinovich. Voinovich hung on to Landon's leg a number of times slowing the match down to avoid a tech fall. Big win by Dee with 2 takedowns and the last won the match. Dee is very strong and picked up Caliendo, knocked him off balance and then to the mat for the takedown. Great win. He could get into a little better shape where he could be more aggressive from neutral. Facundo loses 4 to 1 in overtime. He needs to get some takedowns. Ryder loses 4 to 2 and he needs to get some takedowns also. He seemed to lose focus after he got and escape and didn't react to an ankle pick which lost the match. Merrill gave up a takedown near the end of the match when he had the lead. Connor won by forfeit. We have some wrestlers who score and too many that don't score. We will see how good our coaches are at developing our wrestlers. That will be needed to get a trophy.I believe Iowa and Osu have won the same number of ncaa titles this century.
Iowa took like 5 shots the whole dual. WTF were you watching? Half of Iowa's points came from an OSU wrestler shooting. Awesome dual and great win for Iowa. Better get their licks in while they can.You must’ve missed your entire fanbase and coaching staff screaming for stalling the moment an Iowa guy stopped moving forward. Ferrari gets out, circles, shoots and you’re all screaming for a stall. Did Ryder take a committed shot the entire match? Lets not forget Lockett getting ridden like a dog while literally pleading with the ref for another call without even trying to move. You all can never say another word about Iowa fans and stalling.
Enjoy the 3rd-place match.
What is the cutoff for titles mattering? We are getting to the point no one gives a crap about the 80s. Do those go away? You're digging 100 years back for titles because it’s all you’ve got in this argument. Classic, Iowa fans will make fun of PSU claiming they thought wrestling started when Sanderson arrived at PSU and started winning titles. Now you claim any title before Gable got to Iowa is less important because it was so long ago. Apparently the only titles that count were won by Iowa. 83% of Iowa fans are delusional imbeciles. You're digging 100 years back for titles because it’s all you’ve got in this argument. Going back to 2001, Iowa has 4, Oklahoma state has 4…..they don’t want to hear it but a lot of their dominance is getting dated as well. It’s fun having a rivalry with these pre-canned insults. Reminds me of bedlam where the OU fans claim the don’t care but can all recite the overall football record by heart.Classic, Iowa fans will make fun of PSU claiming they thought wrestling started when Sanderson arrived at PSU and started winning titles. I mean...that's kind of just fun with numbers, though. If you go back to 2008, Iowa still has 4 (should be 5, but sigh) and Okie State has 0. If you go back 5 years, Iowa has 1 (should be 2, see previous sigh), and Okie State has 0. Regardless, we're all trying to reel in the monster in Happy Valley. Iowa has been the superior program for the last 15 years (compared to Okie State, not Penn State), but Okie State looks to be on the track to be the bigger threat to Penn State, depending on whose massive recruiting haul (Jax, Raneys x2, etc vs. Kennys x 2, Bachmanns x 2, Borge) hits bigger. I'm on the record as being a HUGE Raneys guy, and if Jax actually does wrestle second semester, I'm picking him to win the whole thing, so....Going back to 2001, Iowa has 4, Oklahoma state has 4…..they don’t want to hear it but a lot of their dominance is getting dated as well. That’s kind of my point in how ridiculous the exercise is. We can all apply timelines which make our side of the argument look better. Both programs are dominant historically, but neither is on Penn State level right now. Chances are good that if someone is going to unseat Penn State from the throne that it will be one of these two.I mean...that's kind of just fun with numbers, though.
