Very nice game tonite in Nebraska win over Oklahoma. Pryce led the team with over 30 points and was efficient from both 3 and 2 point range.

For all those that said he sucked.

Brock Harding led TCU in scoring yesterday in a close loss to number 6 ranked Michigan.

For all those who said he sucked.

Congrats to the efforts of those young men as well as good luck in their futures*, but they don't play for Iowa anymore.

And that's the only thing that matters to me.

* - unless they play the Hawkeyes (as Pryce definitely will, at least once or twice before his college days are over)

I would've kept Pryce and Dix, but no one else. Pryce is better than his brother. Brock is a no for me. He is a good passer and ball handler, but he will dribble into an open shot and then... not take it. A lot. Drove me nuts last year. He just isn't a good enough jump shooter and would rather drive into trees all the time even when it's not there. If Brock worked hard in the off-season to become a deadly 3 point shooter, he would be a great PG. But I'm guessing he didn't.

I admit I could be very wrong, but I don't think Harding ever would have found any real minutes for PT in McCollum's rotation because he's simply too short to defend well on a routine/constant basis in a P5 conference like the B1G.

A harsh reality, but doesn't make it any less true.

Harding is now up to 7.3 points per game and 5.5 assists. 3-14 from three for the year and shooting 32.4 percent from the field. I don’t think he sucks but he’s a limited player.

I’m not surprised Pryce is doing well. He probably needed a change of scenery.

Brock also started the season with a bang playing 36 minutes, going 2 for 11 from the floor with TCU losing to New Orleans as a 21 point favorite. The Big 12 better watch out!

OP recently said the Hawks would have made the final four in 2020, now starts this thread. The man is either a Fran lover or McCollum hater. Either way, color me surprised he even watches basketball. Didn't expect that.

He’s worse on the off topic board. Pryce would have definitely struggled trying to play for Mac. He made the right choice going with Hoiberg who also plays no defense.

Offense was never a question for either student. Pryce will find a place in the NBA. Best of luck to him.

Yes. The 2020 Iowa Hawkeyes basketball team.

4 Future NBA players. Two Murray brothers, National player of the year Luka Garza, Joe Wiescamp, Jordan Bohannon and Jack Nunge. 14-6 in the Big Ten finishing third with a 2 seed in the West region doesn't sound like a final four team to me.

It is hard to believe some fools call themselves Iowa sports fans.

Final AP rating 8th.

Big Ten finishers above. Illinois AP#2 Michigan AP #4.

@fivecardstud14 and @The Big Z aren't real bright either, so we can give them a little break.

Big fan of Ben McCollum and have high hopes. Big fan of Fran McCaffery and respected his accomplishments as a coach.

We would have lost first round to a Richmond equivalent or got boat-raced second round by a team like Oregon. Rinse and repeat. It’s the Fran March special.

Sandfort should have stayed, Ben could have only made him a better player. Harding gives everything he's got, he's just too short and not enough of an outside shot, IMHO
Somewhat agree except Harding is, what, a sophomore??

Water under the bridge, but still to be determined whether Harding will mature.

Hey, who gives a damn? They didn't wanna stick around in Iowa City, so what they do or don't do makes no difference to most of us.

Pryce will absolutely not find a place in the NBA. He’s softer than a baby’s bottom and can’t guard anyone.

The NCAA basketball tournament was cancelled in 2020. The 2019/2020 Hawkeye team played nearly a full season, however. The 2020/2021 Hawkeye team played a full season in front of NO fans as that season was impacted by Covid and is the team that should have reached the Final Four. Hawk fans would have carried them there, but instead got beat by a one hit wonder Oregon team in front of no fans.

But Harding is good enough to start in a P5 conference like the Big12? And was good enough to have already played in the Big10?

There are times when Brock's size is taken advantage of. But that notion is pretty overrated. His feet, toughness, and intelligence make him plenty capable, defensively.

Yes, Brock would have played for this Hawkeye team. Especially considering the roster is a least a guard short.

Sounds like Brock may have left regardless of who Iowa hired. But curious that the roster is a guard short, considering Brock was here at the time of Ben's hire.

Fans thinking that the individual players from Iowa last season can't defend, is laughable. The coaches at their new schools have all disagreed.

They couldn't defend, as a team. And that's what defense, at the college level, is all about. And of course, that was a product of the coach

Brock can’t defend. Who is this idiot trying to argue otherwise?? He is playing at a school that will get boatraced night in and out by the Kansas, BYU, and Houston’s of the Big 12 world. They’ll be extremely lucky to be above .500 in that league.

Not sure why you think Brock can't defend
