Heritage will absolutely have a major issue with Lincolntons QB he is slicker than a booger in a jar of honey...
Now I will say Lincolntons loss to a Huge power running Stuart Cramer team looms heavy for them against your power running attack
They have an amazing Linebacker J Mayfield that didnt play against Cramer...
this will an outstanding game between two very good programs with wonderful fanbases

I honestly expected Lincolnton to beat Hendersonville by more than 1 point. I know you aren't supposed to compare scores but Heritage did win at Hendersonville by a few scores. I still think Lincolntons team speed will cause some issues but Heritage has more speed than their normal teams mostly Jones and Rodriguez. Jones is an Elon signee and can hurt you running and catching the ball. He has legit speed and power.
Does NFHS stream you guys games? This will be a dandy....
Theres a fellow I work with at local college In Shelby ... we were talking about Mt Heritage today and he said his nephew coaches up there....He talked highly of him and yalls new coach.. I shared my story of sitting amongst yalls fans at newton years ago .... He giggled at my stories and how much I enjoyed hanging with yall
If Mr Lincolnton makes the trip make it a point to meet him.. one of the finest humans the Good Lord ever created.... You all will love his stories and how humble this gentleman is....

As long as its not as cold there as 09, I'll consider it a small weather victory for both teams.
Hendersonville was big. They had run success, but our D stepped up in the 2nd half. Both teams missed scoring opportunities. If score comparisons really mattered, I'd be pretty worried.
As it is, I'm optimistic and completely ignorant of whats in store for us. I'm picking the Wolves, by 6.

At our game tonight, more than once, I thought "Shelby will be disappointed that they won't get to play us again, this year," then I got to wondering about how in the world will we get by Mountain Heritage who beat Hendersonville by 16 points?"
After that I made an effort to stop thinking.
The Heritage-Hendo game was closer than it seemed. Hendersonville had a few mental mistakes and Heritage got a touchdown on a play that could have been called a Bearcats interception.
Lincolnton, congratulations on the playoff win and advancing to Yancey County! SL is right on about your fine qualities. I'm just hoping thye have enough room for you to pace and move around as you do during your games.
If anyone from Lincolnton gets up there early both Snap Dragon and Pigs & Grit are great places to grab food.
The trip to Burnsville is going to be tough challenge for the Wolves, but they have already played Maiden, Burns, Shelby, and Stuart Cramer. I will say score comparisons that MH and Lincolnton had similar scores against WL. Lincolnton has to do a better job of protecting the football on the Wolves side of the field while getting stops or it will be a long night on D as the Cougars have sustained touchdown drives. Serious question, what happened against the Maroon Devils? I was shocked by the score when it happened.
Lin better be more physical then they were against Hendo or they will get beat . They are huge upfront play soft. Their qb will cause heritage some problems , but the jones kid from heritage will be best player on the field
Ugh that game at Swain was just a complete disaster. You simply had to be there. We mustāve had 3-4 TDs called back to penalties. We had their chain gang calling our ball boys (coaches kids) names and profanities. You had Swain grown men behind our sidelines (literally on the track) talking trash to the players and calling out plays. We had a fumble recovery to end the game that they said the Swain kid was down then phantom penalties for 30 yards to put them into position to kick a game winning FG from 20 yards out. It was just a āif it could go bad it didā type of game.
I normally sit back and just look at these posts. I donāt really have a dog in the fight because I donāt have kids playing. However, I have to say I have seen your posts over this season and in anlmost everyone of them you are bashing Heritages line. It seems like they are playing dang good. Seeing how the other back for Heritage had more rushing yards than Jones last night. I just want to know why you are so against them?
Not against anyone , I did not bash heritage line play all I said was if Lin plays soft like they did against Hendo heritage will kill them . Jones is real deal , fast and tough you know he is division 1 player , teams go in to stop him . Thatās Braxton kid probably best linemen in Wnc . You know if heritage going make run for championship is right now, players like jones donāt come around often

Lincolnton is hard to game plan against. Best description for them is backyard football. QB and WR are brothers and played all of their life together. So it turns into backyard football where they just have a mental connection on broken plays. Both undersized but fast and shifty and play so low to groundShould be a really good ball game. Lincolntonās QB is electric. Just need to deploy the game plan where we maintain possession for 70%+ of the ball game.
Special teams is a massive concern. The kick off return TD gave up last night to West Lincoln was a straight up shocker
Pretty dang good description. Just have to really focus on any kind of containment but thatās just so much easier said than done.
At the end of the day itās always fun seeing contrasting styles of football. We should be in for a real treat.

If heritage can make that qb stay in pocket like heritage chances , if he gets out in open field will be trouble for cougars . Can Lin match the physical play upfront ? Should be interesting game

Based on what Iāve seen on film itās going to be a long night for Lincolnton up front. Theyāre big but sheesh that donāt move well and that caters to our little feisty OL
Problem also your team will get a lotta facemask penalties. With little shifty QB and his brother. You reach out to tackle them and their facemask is perfect height to accidentally grab
You keep bringing up Hendo as if they are soft. They are not soft. AT ALL...very physical from what I saw.

This should really be a good game. I canāt help but to think Mountain Heritage will be favorites on this one but wouldnāt surprise me to see it the other way around. I think Lincolnton is a year away from from being an elite team.
Respectfully, based on my memory, only, Lincolntonās last play was our quarterback getting pressure, he attempted a pass to a receiver who was fairly deep in Mt.Heritage territory, but not in the end zone. The pass was accurate but was deflected by a Cougars defender, who might have been C. Randolph.

I'm siding with Lincolnton's memory...I ran a quick piece of deep trivia, (40 years ago) past him last night and he gave me the correct name in nearly .5 seconds.
I was at the game, and have zero recollection of the particular play, lol.

Quick look he does look good on Hudl. Teams took some bad angles on him and he ran away from them.
I've got game film from 09 and he's correct, only Josh Laws our QB batted the ball down, not Casey Randolph.
