The commission is looking into whether Hobbs violated the state’s conflict of interest laws when he failed to recuse himself from personnel matters — including contract extensions, pay raises and internal investigations — involving former Rutgers gymnastics coach Umme Salim-Beasley while the two were engaged in a personal relationship, the sources said.

Hobbs did not return a call seeking comment on Tuesday.

If by “personal relationship” you mean having sex then yes, him involved in her contract negotiations is HIGHLY unethical
