OT: Streaming Sports

I am looking at cutting the cord and was looking at a few free sites with Roku. The sports looks choppy and has artifacts. I have fiber so it's not the internet. I looked up a few things that said that frames per second are not as good with streaming. Who do you use for a streaming service and do you see this and does it matter to you?

Sports are fine on YoutubeTV. I have fiber too, 500 mbps, I think.

If you're looking for an app to exclusively stream live sports, you won't find it.....yet (without a streaming service like YTTV, Sling, etc. That's (live sports) the last thing holding up the whole 'cable' model.

TV matters and so do the "chatter" settings on it. Cheap or older tvs can have some chattering of the picture.

I have DIRECTV stream, have had Hulu live. It all runs great on Roku, and I don’t have anything close to fiber speeds. The only real issue with live sports is the delay- you can get score alerts or see “spoiler” tweets. If you don’t tend to read Twitter while you watch, not a big deal at all.

It might be your Roku. I have had a Roku Ultra for 2 or 3 years and the video and audio are fine (other than the audio being a lot louder than on satellite/OTA channels). For a while a few years ago, the picture was jerky when I'd watch an MSU basketball on SECN+ but it cleared up when I got the Ultra.

No real issues with YouTube TV. I flipped back and forth between it and MLB app anll evening.

You aren’t going to watch live sports for free. The provider is the ticket to live sports, just have to decide which one has what all you want.

It's a new school Airstream. We call it the Flying Shìthouse. It's been a great splurge so far. About to cross 10,000 miles in the past 14 months and we have a hook-up at home so it acts as a guest house/man cave from May- November.
