I was cold, wet and bummed. Fans hung in with really miserable weather. Our boys played their hearts out, came down to the wire. Proud of our boys. Lanning's bunch taunted the Iowa crowd afterward, classless.
This is not the place to speak positively after a loss! We need to fire everyone because a bunch of unathletic ***** that never attended the University are unhappy with their miserable lives. Yes, I know you only accept winning while living in your sprawling mansions on the hill.I was cold, wet and bummed. Fans hung in with really miserable weather. Our boys played their hearts out, came down to the wire. Proud of our boys. Lanning's bunch taunted the Iowa crowd afterward, classless.
What type of “taunting” did the ugly ducklings do? I hope the crowd gave it right back at them.I was cold, wet and bummed. Fans hung in with really miserable weather. Our boys are smart, tough, determined and strong, but speed in cars, boats and athletes cost money. That is something we can’t afford. We could have the zombie corpse of Vince Lombardi coaching us and not win a championship. So let’s fire everyone and burn down the house. At that point, we will finally have that cherished Rivalry with Purdue for the basement.Just glad the Hawks made a good showing. So close but so far. I didn't think they would move the ball against us the way they did.
The crowd was awesome for the entire 60 minutes. They and the team deserved better. If you go back and look at it, almost every break has gone against Iowa this season. The ISU tipped pass. Twice Iowa has had deflected passes intercepted to set up the opponent for an easy TD. How many times have opponents fumbled only to recover it themselves? But Iowa has a rare fumble yesterday and, of course, Oregon recovers.I was cold, wet and bummed. Fans hung in with really miserable weather. Our boys played their hearts out, came down to the wire. The Ducks did no such thing. In fact, they gave Iowa a lot of credit.
Here's an eyewitness account:
I know a team that might be able to do just thatSaw that. There were no dirty plays or fights, I figured they would show us respect after a hard fought game. Can't wait to watch them get their teeth kicked in during the playoffs.
What I saw being at the game was on Offensive line for Oregon that when they needed to, they dominated our front 7 defenders. 261 yards on the ground. That's a bunch. Our boys are smart, tough, determined and strong, but speed in cars, boats and athletes cost money. That is something we can’t afford. No question we gave ourselves a puncher's chance this season. Just weren't able to land the knockout blow when it counted most. Unfortunate, but definitely not for lack of effort or desire on the part of the coaches and players. Anyone who says otherwise is doing so with an agenda or hasn't actually watched the games. The crowd was awesome for the entire 60 minutes. They and the team deserved better. Excuses? Maybe. But they're also facts. And anyone who doesn't think luck is part of success in sports and in life is sadly naive. If the ball had bounced Iowa's way this season, you're looking at a 9-0 team on its way to the CFP. IMHO, of course.
Good post! I am still bummed Sunday evening about yesterday’s ending. No question we gave ourselves a puncher's chance this season. Just weren't able to land the knockout blow when it counted most. Woulda, coulda, shoulda sucks....but it sucks less than a few years ago when it was clear we didn't even belong in the same weight class as some of the better teams. We may not be a top championship contender, but at least we've moved beyond just being a sparring partner.
can’t disagree…tough loss but with the offense of 2021-23 and defense of 2025 i suspect this game would’ve been lost decisively. kirk maybe old chronologically but i think he’s evolving the team to compete… the iu and or games were losses but do show that a couple minor breaks and this is a playoff (caliber) team. find a qb who can play and keep the ol humming and we will be back next yearNo question we gave ourselves a puncher's chance this season. You, rightfully, assumed the refs wouldn't allow other teams to commit holding all game long.I didn't think they would move the ball against us the way they did.
Maybe they have an iffy quarterback????? He isn't going to get them through the CFP.After seeing how trashy their fans have been online after the game, this isn’t surprising tbh. The majority of them are acting like the only reason the game was close is injuries and the refs conspired against them to help Iowa. Iowa is beneath them, and Kinnick is a dump. Might have another Nebraska-like trashy fanbase in the conference. TBH. Pretty disappointing.
See the separate thread on this very subject. Iowa fans initiated nothing.I just saw it posted somewhere that Iowa fans threw beer and other objects at “trash talking” Oregon players after the game.
See the separate thread on this. It was well beyond taunting that the Oregon players did. What type of “taunting” did the ugly ducklings do? I hope the crowd gave it right back at them.
On Duck board they said a Duck player went over greet his family in the stands, was waving to them, and was immediately booed and taunted, when other Ducks came over, the north end zone fans started throwing things at them. Not a good look. Doesn't help Iowa fans poor reputation at all.I was cold, wet and bummed. Fans hung in with really miserable weather. Our boys played their hearts out, came down to the wire. 8 yds a carry! YIKES! just ran over the Hawk front four over and over. Did well vs the pass until the usual PP choke job. How does that keep happening. KF and Lester coached their tails off only to be let down again by the DC.Just glad the Hawks made a good showing. So close but so far. I didn't think they would move the ball against us the way they did.
100% not what happened you clown. They also had a similar thing happen at Penn State. They went over to the corner to taunt fans immediately. It’s unfortunate that Iowa fans did that but that’s not even close to what went down and you know that.On Duck board they said a Duck player went over greet his family in the stands, was waving to them, and was immediately booed and taunted, when other Ducks came over, the north end zone fans started throwing things at them. Ducks were missing 5 starters on offense, that was a good break. The weather was perfect for the Hawks win ugly style. Not one penalty called on Iowa, save the punt disaster, all game long. So plenty of breaks for the Hawks. Just cannot get ran over for 8 yds a carry and let a team drive 65 yds with ease for a chip shot FG to win.The crowd was awesome for the entire 60 minutes. They and the team deserved better. If you go back and look at it, almost every break has gone against Iowa this season. The ISU tipped pass. Quack fans and players said that their bench was harassed by fans all game long. Ugly things apparently, Lanning was not happy in his post game, saying 'we have played a tough places before but never had to go through those kind of things, proud of my football team to be above that'.See the separate thread on this very subject. Something went down in the northwest corner after the game. Crushed beer cans getting tossed. An Oregon player was in the area.I just saw it posted somewhere that Iowa fans threw beer and other objects at “trash talking” Oregon players after the game.
There were 15 to 20 Oregon guys taunting the fans in the north endzone. Saw it with my own eyes. People started throwing things. Not sure what was thrown though.Something went down in the northwest corner after the game. Crushed beer cans getting tossed. An Oregon player was in the area.
didn’t see what started it.
LOL. What did they expect? Every fan base does that stuff. Every team doesn't behave like his in reaction to it. Those players ran over grabbed their balls and did the L symbol on their forehead and flipped the birds. Then and only then did some fans pick stuff up and throw it at them.Quack fans and players said that their bench was harassed by fans all game long. If you lived in Oregon especially Portland you too would have a sh-tty outlook on life in general. Trash state, trash city, trash people.Yea. I’d say about 15 or 20 Oregon guys ran over to the north endzone and started taunting the fans. Objects were thrown. Pretty classless by Oregon. Hope they get run by someone here soon.
I was at the game and it wasn't one player. Do you greet your family by grabbing your junk? Then more Duck players joined in. Some Ofegon staff came over to herded them back to the South endzone. Pi$$ poor sportsmanship by the ducks. Iowa fans have a poor reputation? That's rich.On Duck board they said a Duck player went over greet his family in the stands, was waving to them, and was immediately booed and taunted, when other Ducks came over, the north end zone fans started throwing things at them.
