Grono played very well. His first 2 or 3 passes were off but after that he was 10 for 15 for 138 yards. Dante Moore was decent and give him credit for that big, late throw;

But if we can have Grono type QBs the next 10 years that will be great.

Didn’t have the yards come from 2 passes ? That’s pretty rare for MG

usually he’s 12/14 95

cause every pass is LOS or behind

he was off early, but he was accurate on the long throws

It appears our offense is in a better place than it was when we fielded Deacon Hill and several others before him.

But.....Lester's Year 2 air attack remains incredibly painful. I won't even bother putting any of our passing statistics in this post. A one-dimentional offense results in another ho-hum season. Shocker.

They were missing

starting RT
#1 and then #2 WR
#1 TE

all of them NFL prospects. We’ll never know how game goes with them playing, but you assume they have more success in the red zone especially with that TE
Our TE1 was out, too, but two of the backup TEs came up huge on that big drive, plus one of them caught the first half TD pass. The Ducks have plenty of depth, so it's doubtful the drop-off was huge.

People have dissed our tight ends all season on this board but IMO Vonnahme has made some key catches and appears to have a bright future. Large has done some good blocking and helps with the little things like the pushes on the QB runs in tight formations. Don't know much about what we have behind those guys but TE doesn't seem the void many make it out to be.

Ortwerth flashed in a couple of games in previous seasons, but apparently has been banged up this year. If he can get healthy and improve his blocking, he may yet become a force.
