I honestly hope they just keep expanding the playoffs because the bowl games are becoming so meaningless. I used to look forward to the Outback bowl on Jan 1. I feel like the season is over now after the Nebraska game. Oh well, gotta take the good with the bad. On Iowa!

Bowls are like the JV games they play before Varsity
They seem that way with players opting out for the draft to avoid injury. I gotta be honest and laugh at the players that do opt out of their last game in an Iowa uniform then don’t get drafted. Their agents must really suck.

I look forward to it but not like the past when every .500 team or better practically was assured of one. Now teams opt out which never happened in the past. Hope somehow the Hawks can put yesterday behind them and get ready for a tough one next week. Yesterday was as tough of a loss I can remember in recent years.

With a likely 7-5 record, a middling, non-January 1 bowl is likely, probably against an opponent the Hawks actually have a chance of beating.

I’m ok with that.
That’s where I am at too….Taking a step back, 7-5 with the (lack of) talent level we have at WR,TE, and LB….7-5 is not that bad. It really sucks that we pissed away some great defensive units in years prior though….

Make the Bowl games worth it to the players who would otherwise opt out. Put some NIL money towards the players and less towards the schools/conferences. Perhaps even give the winning team a larger percentage of the money.

NIL deals:
The Barstool Sports Arizona Bowl was one of the first to provide NIL deals directly to players for their participation, reports Front Office Sports.

NIL and bowl participation:
Other bowls may use NIL deals to incentivize players to compete, such as paying them to appear in official game programs or for other endorsements related to the game.

Unfortunately, the way things are going we are going to see more guys sit out the bowl game so the games will involve more underclassmen. The should really be thought of as a very, very early Spring game.
Since a bowl game is 'meaningless'. I don't care if an upperclassman sits out. We are looking at the future players. I would like to see them play and see what we got.

I still enjoy going to bowl games. Fans having fun. KF has definitely taken a more relaxed stance on bowl games. I've seen players tooling around on scooters in Orlando and hanging out on Broadway lin Nashville leading up to bowl game. Never used to see players out and about before bowl game.
Really hoping for Tampa or Vegas.
Pass on Vegas….anywhere in Florida please…

If a fan would travel to an away regular season game why would you not want to go to a bowl game. I’ve had 1000x more fun at bowl games than any away game.
