PSU played very well last week against OSU before finally relenting. Today they gave IND all they wanted. Even on a losing streak of 6 games, they are really dangerous at home. They may have their best available coach right now.

My impression is they love the interim coach as he is the main recruiter and although publicly he doesn't seem to have a chance at the job, I am sure internally there is a feeling he could get the job if the team responds well. The coach is therefore coaching for his chance at the head coach job and the players will play for him. They have been really competitive with a tough schedule despite being down their qb. Playing a team with an interim coach who is extremely popular is more difficult than playing against a team with a .500 coach who just got an extension, I can tell you that.
Iowa football is a purposeful sabotage on the game of college football. They are a plague on the quality of the sport.

Kirk hired his own son whether he deserved it or not. Kirk is about himself and playing putrid football gives Iowa no chance to win anything important but also keeps them from losing too many games, which just allows Kirk to hold on. I just can't fathom how he has weathered racism and overt nepotism which has lead to losing and he still gets paid millions. As bad as Nebraska has been, at least we don't have to watch this style of football, our coach always has a chance to be fired and replaced, which will never happen to Iowa.

Yeah, one of the few plays I saw of that game and I just figured the refs would all gather and then drop the flag, especially considering there were no WR's or TE's that actually went out to run routes.
