Don't rule out Wisconsin dumping Fickell and bringing in Fitzgerald
I don't see him taking anything but a head coaching job. He will easily be forgiven for what was a questionable dismissal at Northwestern.
He can be our head coach.
Wouldn't hurt to give him a call.. you never know. Remember Ralph Friedgen. I would think he might do DC at a NC contender.

Yeah.. not a good fit.. he'd need some higher talent level, I would think.. than what our guys have shown.. unless they are severely underperforming to their talent level right now.. which is at least partially true.
Friedgen wasn't working under a micromanager. He wouldn't have come here if Schiano had still been the coach, and I doubt Schiano would have asked.

Brent Pry would be a better choice, and he does not come with dirty laundry from the car wash escapades at Northwestern. But that scumbag from Maryland DJ Durkin is moving back up the ranks and someone will probably hire him soon.

Unless Schiano forces Tate to approve a new field-house be built that will rival Oregon's "the nest" a 145,000-square-foot facility features custom-built PlayStation consoles and luxurious lockers with marble showers.

The 2014, 2015 and 2025 WRs are probably the 3 deepest and most talented groups Rutgers has had in the last 40 years. Even more than 2006. And AK is no slouch at QB. The fit issue is age, not talent.
Schiano is extremely difficult to work with, that’s a fairly known fact.
Its kinda why he has “his crew” that he continues to hire.

um.. we were talking about DC. But, sure, an offensive-minded HC candidate might have other calculations to make.. but this defense, as it is, is an albatross. Think Richie's podcast guys indicated the low D talent level might be why our old DC went to take the impossible UMASS HC job. So my comment was.. even if Fitz (or any other DC candidate) had some reason to take a DC job here working with GS, that talent level might be a huge stumbling block.. unless he can see the talent and realize it was some really poor DC coaching that has us where we are... and he could turn it around and look like a hero.
