I remember how rough this team looked the first 8 or 9 games last season. Add to that we haven't identified who are perimeter scoring is going to be. I'll just say this, IF Kylie and McCabe are still starting by the B1G season, we'll be lucky to stay in the middle of the pack. Thats not a starting level guard combo at this level. Role players yes, but together when neither can score consistently when guarded, uh, no.

The problem with that (and I don’t disagree) is that those 2 are the best perimeter shooters on the team.

Can’t see enough offensive firepower without them. Teams can just collapse on Ava and Hannah and it won’t be pretty.,

We probably weren't going to win the B1G anyway. Not with UCLA and Maryland looking to have Final Four seasons. We have 3 seniors, and the rest of the team is 3 freshmen and 4 sophomores.

If McCabe can’t get open or Iowa doesn’t screen for her she’s just taking up space on the court. She doesn’t dribble drive so a perimeter player only. Defense is what Kylie does. She’s not afraid to go to the basket but not strong at that. I agree that for Iowa to succeed, it will be without them 2 on the floor together.

Gonna end up winning by 30 or so. But guard play leaves a lot to be desired. And you have to play Steulke and Heiden but the 2 post lineup didn’t work last year either and they didn’t figure it out until midseason.

I just mentioned to my wife that I don’t know if she’s slow necessarily but she seems to have very heavy feet. Doesn’t move fluidly.
