You know Lester is adding some sort of new wrinkle a few new plays during this bye week period heading into this one. What will it be?

Just keep this thing competitive until the end, Lester. Let's see a good Iowa football team on Saturday!
I agree with this. I was pleasantly surprised how they hung in there with indiana. they provided the opportunity for the win. mainly D and special teams but hey, if this offense really has improved, then game on!!

Interesting that four defensive backs have a / about them starting. Probably about situations but I think it's curious.

You mean hope the Iowa QB gets hurt in the fourth quarter, or that the Iowa kicker misses a potential game-winning FG, or that Indiana scored a TD on a very short field after intercepting a deflected pass? :)
Out-talent the Hawks. Bring NFL talent at RB, QB and WR. Oregon would also be able to do this

Oregon has given up over 100 yards rushing in 6 of their 8 games. They can be run on.
30th in rush defense, 6th in scoring and 4th in pass defense. But the teams they've played are not that good.

Oregon has played 1 game against a really good team - Indiana. At home. Lost by 10. Beat PSU in double OT.

They beat Wisky by 2 TD's at home. Hawks beat them 37-0 in Madison.

Everyone assumes Oregon is a lock for a playoff spot, but I don't think they've done enough to warrant that. They are a very good team, but I don't think they are a great team.

They have a defense on par with Iowa. The difference has been the offense where they are also a top 5 team.

Oregon QB was 21 / 34 for 186 yards with 1 TD and 2 INT against Indiana. Top rusher was 8 carries for 59 yards.

secondary and LBs are going to have to step up, Iowa should dominate this game on the line of scrimmage at both sides. Getting 4+ yards on 1st down for the offense is going to be important. Honestly, the bully ball that Iowa is capable of makes me feel like we are almost back to the good ole days.

It's interesting to me that the guys I consider the three best receivers the Hawkeyes have are all listed as second teamers: Dayton Howard, Reece Vander Zee, and Kaden Wetjen. Of course, since receivers rotate so much, it probably doesn't matter. But I do find it curious.

Howard wasn't even dressed last game. He was out.

FWIW Vander Zee started against Minny, despite being listed as a WR2.

I’ve never really gotten the quarterback getting injured as a built in excuse. Heck Nebraska will point to it right now, we point to it for Indiana. And the only reason we have our last win against a ranked team was because Penn State’s quarterback got injured at Kinnick in 2021. We were on our way to getting boat raced until Clifford got hurt.

The difference is Gronowski's injury was a freakish thing. Clifford was planted 6 feet into the turf by Jack Campbell.

This morning's weather models have increased the chance of cold, rainy conditions Saturday afternoon in Iowa City.
