The NCHSAA website has top 5 listed this way (no East or West): Brevard, Reidsville, East Duplin, Central Davidson and West Craven. Grizzly has both East Duplin and West Craven ahead of Reidsville. My predictions for the top 8 in the east are the following. I have not done the west. I think Reidsville is a lock for the 1 seed.

Randleman/West Craven
Bunn

Once you get past the top 6 there are a lot of variables. TWA plays a winless team which will drastically impact their
TW Andrews/Eastern Wayne (Depending on WC game)
Eastern Wayne/TW Andrews/SW Randolph

The most time consuming part is calculating the OOWP.

It's not just adding in their 0.22222 winning percentage after Friday...but several other teams you've already played will have a worse record after Friday night as well and their WP will also drop.

The total differential I have for Reidsville RPI is -0.02000.

ED is playing a team that is 3-6 (South Lenoir).
WC is playing a team that is 6-2 (Eastern Wayne).
Reidsville is playing a team that is 2-7 (McMichael).

Reidsville OWP will take a slight hit. Remember that OWP is 40% of the equation. So even when all (ED, WC, Reidsville) win, WC will be 9-1, while ED and Reidsville are 8-2. Your winning percentage is also 40%. The last 20% is your OOWP.

To keep it simple, we'll just talk about Reidsville. They have played 9 teams this far. Those teams make up Reidsville OWP. Now you have to track all the teams that played those teams. That will make up Reidsville's OOWP.

So even if Reidsville wins, the fact that McMichael is 2-7, that brings down their OWP. Then Reidsville will have to depend on Northern Guilford, George Washington (VA), Reagan & Eastern Guilford to win or it could bring down their OWP more. It also depends on who those teams play. For instance Northern Guilford (8-1) plays Southeast Guilford (6-3). NG should win, which helps Reidsville's OWP and 6-3 team isn't bad, so that should help Reidsville's OOWP. However, George Washington (VA) plays a 2-6 team, so that 2-6 team is going to hurt Reidsville's OOWP.

While the math is simple, the figuring out who wins and tracking the OOWP is very time consuming.

OWP is 9 games per team (90 total). The game your opponent plays against you is removed. It's how well they've done outside of your game that'sbeing captured.

Ex: you beat a team that finished 2-8. The OWP for that team, for your RPI calcs, is based off a 2-7 record. So 2÷9=0.22222

You beat a 5-5 team. It's calculated based of a 5-4 record. So 5÷9=0.55556

I agree that there could be a lot of moves up or down based on the games this week. This is just my prediction based off of my math. Could it be different then what I have, no doubt.

I haven't seen much from anybody from Mt Airy. I stayed out of 1A because they seemed to have psychos over there that might show up at your porch.

2A and 3A were fun, and 4As were boring half the time, and fun the other half.


I guess they're not quite the "Grizzly" bears they were in that pop warner kiddie league, so they're more quiet.. or still trying to log on

The Dull Horses were fun till they became preferred for homecoming games

I was messing. Rambbq and The Mule are a couple of great guys. Theres another but I’m struggling to remember his old username. Something 24. I see him every time I’ve been to one of their games.

FWIW, I am being told by one person that the two “new” player suspects will not be suiting up because the families decided to not relocate. Another person says they never had any serious interest in transferring. Can’t see that new players this late in the season would be any help at all.
