8-1 Moline (lots of Wing-T) hosting 5-4 Andrew (lots of triple option). The latter's losses came from teams with an aggregate record of 31-5. The most recent 3 losses had margins of 7, 10 and 12 points.

IC @ Hope - this is Hope’s best team ever. Very unfortunate round 1 matchup. Can they keep it close and have a shot at the end? Hope is an extremely odd and tough place to play at.

Herscher @ BMAC - you all know why.

SHG @ QND
Sterling @ Coal City
JCA @ Glenwood
I think Hope is gonna have a tough time with IC. The Knights fared pretty well this year against some of the big boys. They beat a good Ignatius team and a good St Francis team and only lost to Naz by a few. The fact that BMAC handled Hope pretty easily makes me think the IC score will be similar if not worse.

I agree but thinking Hope has a punchers chance. They will need to score 50+ to have a sliver of an opportunity.

Stevenson at LW-East...... I think everyone is wondering if East will bounce back and make a statement here after dropping the last 2 games.

Before you laugh hear me out on this one: Glenbard South @ Antioch
Lots of story lines:
both schools petitioned up to 6A to run and hide from schools like NAZ only to be in a quadrant with NAZ.
both schools tried to petition back down to 5A when NAZ moved up but were denied
winner of this game will get the pleasure of most likely playing Lake Zurich which I don't see either school winning and may not score on
Some of us wait for a annual Thor X post with bated breath
Both schools play in really easy conferences and struggle in playoffs, usually enter playoffs 9-0, 8-1, 7-2, or 6-3
GBS has not scored in its last 2 playoff games 83-0
GBS Head Coach is 4-9 in the playoffs with all 4 wins coming against CPS schools with avg state rank of 369

This seems fabricated, why would anyone petition up to play ESL

Both petitioned up last year to avoid all the privates in 5A and it's a 2 year commitment, I believe. Not sure how true it is that they tried to go back down to 5A though.

Here are IHSA board notes from June talking about it.

Lmao I’m sad Naz can’t eliminate both of them. As it stands they won’t see either of them.

I am interested in the Belleville East against Aurora West game. Both squads are seven and two for the campaign. Val East has a junior wide receiver/quarterback who will be playing division one ball. They also have a very tough defensive line anchored by Current heavyweight wrestling champion, Jonathan Rulo. He will continue his football career in Cincinnati. This game will be a measuring stick for the southwest conference. With Edwardsville missing QB one, and sitting at four and five, I do not expect them to do much.

I like Belleville East in this one. WA hasnt played anyone since week 4 loss to SE. BE played a harder more consistent schedule IMO. I got BE by more than 2 TDs. This is the super bowl for these teams as I don't see either advancing past 2nd round.

I really hope someone saves that for him when he goes on X diminishing what all those schools accomplished on championship weekend. That whole program/admin just seems like everything you don't want to instill in young men

Dupo v. Salt Fork:

First home playoff game for Dupo in 30 years
Salt Fork run Wing-T, at least based on the little bit of film I found, which Dupo hasn't really seen.

Centralia v. Cahokia:

Comanches smoked the Orphans earlier in the year, but took a loss to Sycamore (who despite playing in a buzz-saw of a conference, did only go 5-4). in week 9. In my experience the second match-up between two teams is usually closer...

Flora v. Nashville:

Wolves having their best season in forever...but with the BDC being locked, hard to gauge talent levels to a point. Hornets know the way to make a deep run, but haven't had the absolute best year this year.
