With as many jobs that are and will come open there won’t be many great choices out there for everyone looking. Nebraska and others would have to take someone else’s failure like Brian Kelly or James Franklin or raid what looks like a good coach from one of the scab conferences like Big 12/ACCI asked Chat GPT what the current betting odds were for Penn State coaching candidates. Rhule is still #1 followed by Matt Campbell and Drink. I know, it's AI, but still interesting he seems to be the guy.
I actually think Brian Kelly would be a good fit at PSU. He's always been an oddball at LSU and in the SEC. He's more of a Big 10 area guy and would probably do well. Of course, well isn't good enough. With as many jobs that are and will come open there won’t be many great choices out there for everyone looking. I've got a feeling that Kelly rubs people the wrong way wherever he’s at - and wears out his welcome pretty fast regardless of his success. Kind of like Harbaugh.I actually think Brian Kelly would be a good fit at PSU. He's always been an oddball at LSU and in the SEC. He's more of a Big 10 area guy and would probably do well. Campbell won’t go. Eli probably would.I asked Chat GPT what the current betting odds were for Penn State coaching candidates. Rhule is still #1 followed by Matt Campbell and Drink. I know, it's AI, but still interesting he seems to be the guy.
Plus he looked the other way when a student died on his watch. Penn St will love thatI actually think Brian Kelly would be a good fit at PSU. He's always been an oddball at LSU and in the SEC. He's more of a Big 10 area guy and would probably do well. Of course, well isn't good enough.
I really think that Campbell is happy with the zero pressure, zero expectations and crazy huge paycheck at ISU.Campbell won’t go. Eli probably would.
Promoting Ek isn’t as crazy as it might sound. He’s a detail oriented driver. The problem is that it would take away from special teams. Elk’s only weakness might be on offense but I can almost guarantee we wouldn’t be throwing the ball 30+ times in a game. Dual threat QBs would be a requirement for him. That said, Rhule has been recruiting guys with wheels. Dayton maybe excluded but I don’t believe Dayton will get the automatic start like Dylan. He’s going to have to earn it with the QB we’re going to have. Can we just promote Ekeler to Head Coach if Rhule leaves? I say that jokingly (sort of). What he has done for Special Teams is night and day - sort of Cignetti like.
We really need miracle workers on the Offensive and Defensive Lines to be more competitive.
All that means is that there are have been a bunch of posts on the interwebs about Matt Rhule getting the job. AI doesn't have a magic 8 ball. It just reads through all of the posts and articles a lot more quickly than you or I could.I asked Chat GPT what the current betting odds were for Penn State coaching candidates. We're going to end up with a guy who nearly won a super bowl this decade. Can we just promote Ekeler to Head Coach if Rhule leaves? I say that jokingly (sort of). What he has done for Special Teams is night and day - sort of Cignetti like.

There are very few major college coaches who would turn down an opportunity for a step up the professional ladder and bag a bigger paycheck. My guess is that Matt Campbell is a climber.I really think that Campbell is happy with the zero pressure, zero expectations and crazy huge paycheck at ISU.
I mean, he has turned down jobs almost ever season for like 7 years in a row. There are very few major college coaches who would turn down an opportunity for a step up the professional ladder and bag a bigger paycheck. My guess is that Matt Campbell is a climber.
Penn State would bring more pressure but also a better chance to win a national championship …which, if you are a coach, is the top step.
I have not seen Matt Campbell on anyone’s board for Penn State.I asked Chat GPT what the current betting odds were for Penn State coaching candidates. Rhule is still #1 followed by Matt Campbell and Drink. I know, it's AI, but still interesting he seems to be the guy.
What college job offers has Matt Campbell rejected in the last 7 years?I mean, he has turned down jobs almost ever season for like 7 years in a row.
Only Cyclone fans say that he has, it makes them feel warm and fuzzyWhat college job offers has Matt Campbell rejected in the last 7 years?
Officially? NoneWhat college job offers has Matt Campbell rejected in the last 7 years?
Edit: I recall an offer by the Detroit Lions, don’t recall any others. I believe he has said publicly that he wants to stay at the college level.
Kraft wants Rhule because he hired him Before. He is trying to get the old PSU money ( TO at NU ) to back him because Rhule is a PSU . The New ( current money) wants someone like Brady or Hartline ( OSU) we will see who wins out .Rhule 44% then Brady...don't remember his percentage.. is what I just read on a Penn board articke
Which NU ?Officially? None
Unofficially? USC, NU, UNC...
But I guess technically none
They need to decide soon before Nebraska misses out on coaches like James Franklin and Brian KellyKraft wants Rhule because he hired him Before. We never offered but we talked to his agent and he wasn’t interested. What college job offers has Matt Campbell rejected in the last 7 years?

Not for what the poster described. It's just scraping info from the web. I have used some pretty smart AI for BI development though. It's starting to "get smart". But yeah, AI doesn't know anything more about football coaches than anyone else. I was cracking up as I read that post: "I know it's just AI, but wow, amazing".It’s not even intelligence in any sense of the word
This is a different climate than even 5 years ago. Coaches are getting fired mid-season after having lots of success in previous years. A big buyout doesn't do you much unless you want to sit out for a few years, which isn't good for older coaches. Football coaches are nuts and don't want early retirement....they aren't normal people, they aren't going to suddenly settle down and hang with the wife and go fishing, they are obsessed with competition and the attention that the sport brings their psycho minds. Penn State kind of sucks compared to a lot of jobs opening up...and young coaches may just be happy building with less pressure. Pennsylvania itself is a **** hole, and of course the culture in the area is dubious. This is why I think they will act like they are searching and "strike out", and then settle on Rhule. He'll say the right stuff and people will settle down and he will suck, but that isn't our problem. There are very few major college coaches who would turn down an opportunity for a step up the professional ladder and bag a bigger paycheck. My point wasn’t that AI was the gospel, it was so many people (which, as you say, feeds the algorithm) were still talking Rhule to Penn St. I have said all along I don’t think you fire James Franklin to hire Matt Rhule. Not for what the poster described.
