Iowa #26 in Coaches Poll

Maybe the Hawkeyes slip inside the elite group after the bye week. AP isn't out yet, but Iowa is unlikely to be among the elite there either.

FWIW: Iowa is #20 in ESPN's FPI rankings.

AP poll finally released: Iowa #29, about as expected. After all, Iowa ain't Nebraska or Illinois (two recently ranked teams).

Nebraska (LOL) was ranked . . . until they got beat by Minnesota, 24-6. And Illinois was ranked, despite getting beat 63-10 by Indiana (and Illinois lost 42-23 to Washington yesterday, btw).

So please elaborate on why Iowa isn't in the Top 25. I'll save ya the trouble: It's because it says "IOWA" on the jersey. If it said "Alabama" or "Michigan" or "Notre Dame," it would be a totally different story.

BTW: Alabama narrowly beat unranked South Carolina yesterday, but they won, so they stay No. 4. If they had lost, which it appeared they would with about 2 minutes to play, they'd have plummeted all the way to No. 6. LOL

Most of them besides probably Texas and Missouri deserve to be in there. Iowa, USC, and UW are knocking on the door.

A lot of those SEC teams still play each other, so it will sort itself out

Yeah I was watching that Alabama game. South Carolina had that game in hand, late in the 4th, but their QB turned it over on the dumbest move ever. Bama got lucky AF versus a 5 loss team and they don't move an inch.

AP Poll is out: Iowa #29 after not receiving a single vote last week. Fortunately, these stupid polls are meaningless.

Yeah, I'm not too worried.

and now that I think about it, I like we are being disrespected nationally. I think it may help give the team focus.

I guess we gotta do 31 - 0 against Oregon in the first half for the next one. Maybe that gets us a jump.

Just sad and the AP has them around 30th or so? I mean what gives? I strongly disagree with this ******** rankings come on

Who’s “we” last time I checked I wasn’t on the roster and no one on this forum was either and it’s a pile of crap as they can’t control who is ranked in who they played but at 6-2 Iowa should be ranked in the top 15 imho….

it doesn't take a lot for a neanderthal to understand losing to isu and IU is not good.

My Wife made a similar comment. She watched part of the thrashing we gave Minny and said "how are you guys not ranked?"
She went to ND and said they are always over ranked and Iowa is always under ranked. I agree with her.

Dont care. Just keep trucking along. Hawks playing their best football going into November. Just keep taking care of business and it'll all work out in the end. This is the first year in awhile, while Iowa had good records in the past, where you feel Iowa can knock off a top team.
