Just another example of how there is "no more truly amature athletics". Miss the days of the third string guy who stuck it out and played late in career because he learned the system and loved the school.its gonna be interesting to see how the rules change over time

Rules...Rules, we don't need no stinking rules!its gonna be interesting to see how the rules change over time

I hear LeBron James has got 4-5 years of eligibility left . . . .Don't both the Murray twins have eligibility remaining?
Just sayin'.
He could bring his own NIL!I hear LeBron James has got 4-5 years of eligibility left . . . .
Considering all the money he's already acquired - and will continue to do so through advertising - it shouldn't take a fleet of Brinks trucks to land him.
Why not test the waters, Ben??![]()
I get that, can’t blame the player, but not what amateur athletics are supposed to be about. Yes I know NIL etc. Amateur athletics, especially on the college are a mess. Just my opinion.I would do the same thing. There's money in it.
I enjoyed it in it's purest form. Play hard, get a scholly, and go from there.I get that, can’t blame the player, but not what amateur athletics are supposed to be about. Yes I know NIL etc. Amateur athletics, especially on the college are a mess. Just my opinion.
Amateur athletics died long ago.I get that, can’t blame the player, but not what amateur athletics are supposed to be about. Yes I know NIL etc. Amateur athletics, especially on the college are a mess. Just my opinion.
Unfortunately trueAmateur athletics died long ago.
I thought Gonzaga cornered the market on those types of dudes. Not any more.Poor brad Underwood...somehow despite his angst at the system, he has seen fit to push the envelope by crossing yet another line that was unthinkable 5 years ago.
He has exploited the wild West as much as anyone with his roster of euro pros.
They clearly pay top dollar at Illinois...and his big complaint is how to budget for next year as he brings in another pro from Europe mid- season?
Cry me a river.
Another example including four B1G teams…
4.5 pts and 1.5 rebounds per game in G League 2021-22 for the Capital City Go Go, G League team of the Washington Wizards who have been in the basement for some time now. He's been playing in Canada 2022-24.

Essentially AAA players that can stick around for years. Will we see the day that there are 40 year olds playing college ball.I anticipate a day when college athletes are no longer limited to the traditional four years of eligibility. After all, if regular students can stay in college for 10 years or more, why should athletes be held to different standards?
(To be clear, I am not advocating for this ... I just see it as another potential next step in the "athletes' rights" ideology.)
You aren't kidding. Nobody in the pro ranks would sign this guy, and he ended up in Canada. Probably figures he can finally make some kind of money in college. Awful.Sorry but those stats suck. Why would we think he will be great in college now?
