Hoping Dodgers in 5. I don’t like this long stretch without playing for the Dodgers. They should be pretty fresh though. The bullpen has been a big weakness for the team this year, which is crazy considering they won the WS last year on the backs of the bullpen. If Toronto can get into the bullpen early in the series, they will have their best chances to win. If the Dodgers get to pitch Snell, Yams, Glasnow for an average of 7+ innings again, Toronto might not have a chance.

As a life long Blue Jays fan, (since their inception), and probably the only Toronto fan in Nebraska, I was surprised with how their season went. Never expected them to win the East let alone make it to the World Series. Especially after going down 0-2 to Seattle.

Would love to see them win it all but the Dodgers are playing so good right now. Gonna be tough.

I don't live in Nebraska anymore, but I root for the Blue Jays. Mainly because I have several work-related friends in Toronto, and they have a blast when the Jays are good.

Plus, Toronto fans need some relief from getting their hearts broken year after year by the Make Beliefs.

Anyway, I'm pulling for the Jays but LA has to be a heavy favorite.

I'm not a Jays fan, but will probably root for them. The Dodgers are like the Yankees. Baseball is no fun when single teams can buy up all the best players.

Rooting for the Blue Jays. But expecting the Dodgers will win in say 5. There is one nice thing about being a Pirates fan: I'm never stressed by baseball this time of year

Toronto and the people there make up one of the coolest cities on the planet. Definitely rooting for the crazy canucks to pull off a miracle. I don't know how anyone could root for the Dodgers and their deferred payroll ********. I'm sure they'll be in on Schwarber, Tucker, Bregman, maybe a Bellinger reunion?

Here's the Dodger's free agent shopping:

Never been there, but one of the coolest cities on the planet? That's a pretty bold statement Cotton.

Nope, Toronto is as international as any city you'll find. It's just a better place than LA, and it's not close.
Except I enjoy southern California weather which "IMO" is the best in the US. That plays a bigger factor in where I prefer to live. Couldn't care less about what the other people around me believe or are interested in.

I should have added based on what I enjoy subjectively. I don't really want to visit Delhi or Hong Kong, I'm not that adventurous. Toronto is awesome - close by and very "North American" yet also international. Great sports scene, restaurants, scenery. There's kind of a mini Times Square theatre district. Maybe I should say underrated as I don't think it's thought of as a destination city, but I really like it. I like London similarly.

So, Seattle remains the only major league team to never appear in a World Series. Maybe next year.
I used to go back and forth with Shannon Drayer, a M's clubhouse reporter. She was and is always pushing how this is the year for Mariner's to go to the World Series. After the Lou Pinella days they always seem to fall apart in August and September. I never thought there was much incentive for them to win when they were owned by Nintendo. The owner of Nintendo could not care less about the M's. He did not even go watch them play when they played regular season games in Japan. During this same time, I thought the team's leadership under former president Howard Lincoln was pretty bad. Maybe now with local ownership and Dan Wilson managing the team, who I always liked as a player, they will manage to get over the hump and finally go to the WS. Wilson might not want to let reliever Eduard Bazrdo throw it right down the middle to George Springer with first base open.

Greater Vancouver, BC has a population of over 2.6 million and it is only a couple hours away from Seattle so when the Blue Jays play the Mariners in T-Mobile Park it often feels like a Blue Jays home game.

Yeah even though I was rooting for Toronto, I felt bad for Bazardo. He'd been worked like a rented mule the whole postseason and had been pretty good - until he wasn't.

Spend a week in Toronto, then a week in LA. You’ll get it.
Never been to Toronto and I like the beach areas of LA and Orange counties. I've been to Vancouver multiple times. I do live 2 hours away from the Okanogan Region of BC (Central Interior). It is beautiful and has some great skiing. Living in Washington I do not have to have a passport to go back and forth as we can get an enhanced driver license.

"The enhanced driver license (EDL) confirms your identity and U.S. citizenship. You can use it to enter the United States from Canada, Mexico, or the Caribbean through a land or sea port of entry. Your EDL also serves as your driver license and is an acceptable REAL ID document to use for air travel within the United States."

I laugh when people who live away from the border say Canadians are just like us. No, they are not. When I was working in Seattle, I worked with them on a daily basis and shipped product to them every day. I found most of them to be very nice people, but they are definitely different from us Americans. I mostly see them now in the summer on one of our local golf courses. It takes less than two minutes to figure out they are visitors from the North.

Oh sure, but people who live in Toronto or Halifax would say the exact same thing about visitors from BC.

No one with half a brain (or a flush trust fund) would put money on the Jays.

Then again, the Jays have every ingredient of an underdog team accomplishing what so few expected.

Hoping for a competitive Series, but not holding my breath …

Surprised Toronto isn't throwing Gausman in Game 1. I know he was used in relief Monday night, but that was pretty much his regular day to throw a bullpen anyway, and his last start was Friday. Yesavage is talented, but why not throw your #1?

Is Gausman pitching game 2? Maybe they’re hoping he/they have a better chance head to head against Yamamoto instead of Snell. Idk.

Yeah . Possibly the same reasoning Augie Garrido never pitched his Ace against Shane Komine when he faced Nebraska in Lincoln.

Blake Snell is 3-0 with a .86 ERA in the postseason this year. This might have figured into the decision.
Yeah I suppose Schneider figures Yesavage has to start one of the first two games, so it doesn’t make a big difference which one. But if Toronto is able to make it a long series, it would be nice to have Gausman available for a 3rd appearance. Worked out well for them in the ALCS.
