Now but the football team won't use the stadium anymore are they planning to keep it up and utilize it for other sports or will it be demolished

It seems like people really like the location. It is almost like they should have figured out a way to build the permanent stadium on the lakeshore. I assume after The Stars season is over and the new stadium is fully functional, they will tear it down.

On a side note, I see The Stars are sponsored by Meijer. When I lived there, I had to travel a good ways out to see a Meijer. Has it expanded significantly in Chicagoland? I live here in the heart of Meijer country (the corporate headquarters is right down the street), so its ubiquitous presence the norm for me.

No way to build a permanent structure on the lakefront. If only NU had filled in their allotted lakefront back in the 1950sm then maybe, although traffic pattern and parking would be a nightmare.

If they’d done it before they built the new Kellogg, a 35K stadium might fit there but it’d be taller since I’m sure they couldn’t lower the field like they are now. As you said I can’t imagine the parking and traffic solution for that.

I think it had already consumed 1/3 of the total endowment at the time to fill in what they did. I think that was the issue. Evanston is so anti NU that they could have really used that extra land
