1. fans gonna have to show up and be loud
2. players going to have to focus on their particular job, particularly..blocking and tackling first
3. coaches are going to have to do a lil podcasts and get a lil more involved making more clear point 2.

we need this next game, nw beat penn state and ucla...looks like their qb Preston can throw, and they have some rb's
if raiola becomes a piñata we are gonna need some lateef running, nothing personal it's about matchups and winning

It is possible we can win but Northwestern historically has had close games with Nebraska. I think this one will also be a close game and I’m not real confident the Huskers are tough enough to even win this one (which I consider their only chance of a win in the remaining games).

USC is going to name the score when they come to town and it’s all down hill after that. The Huskers are a mentally and physically weak team unfortunately.

What I said when we joined the B1G is still true. B1G teams beat the hell out of each other all season long and it always seems that teams always win a game or two they should never win. As I posted earlier this fall, it’s anybody’s guess who we beat or who beats us.

A post trying to give us optimism we can beat Northwestern? We really need to evaluate where we are as a program. Meanwhile Iowa is able to find ways to go 6-1. Something Rhule has had a chance to do the last two years and failed miserably.

well I like to be optimistic, it makes me feel better then to post that we will be skull dragged for 4 quarters, and that I should be a volleyball fan

We're all NU fans of different types and with expectations. I can respect that although, I'm not what you would call a "sunshine-pumper." I try to deal with what the real situation is not what I wish it were.

I like Matt, he does a lot of great things overall. But am I under the illusion that ANYTHING in his history shows me he is gonna take NU to the imaginary level he speaks of? Hell no, the first guy who needs a reality check is Matt.

We can't get anywhere near what he aspires to attain when we go to IND and get completely swamped then go home a few weeks later and lose a sleep walking contest to UCLA in front of the home crowd. Dovetail that with a total physical a** whipping against MICH and follow that up by getting steamrolled on a Friday night against a team like MINN who is coming off a 42-3 shellacking by OSU.

This is the life a lifelong .500 coach and will remain so. Another "unexpected" loss to a team like NW or having USC hang about 40 points on us will bring everyone back to the same reality. Matt is a really good person, talks way too much, makes promises that defy his words, but he can't seem to help it.

Overall, he has cleaned up a ton of the riff raff that was here was he started the job. He's been given an endless pool of resources to make this team capable of being a Top Ten contender every year, yet, we can't even maintain a position of # 25 for a week, let alone make it a regular occurrence.

I'm not checking out like Pennsy, but as I have said ad nauseum "prove it." Thus far that hasn't happened.

NW has over 10 more conference wins in the past 10 years than Nebraska. I don’t think we understand the magnitude of how bad Nebraska football is and has been for quite some time.

That Minnesota game really pissed a lot of people off as that performance was completely unacceptable.
It wasn't losing the game that sucks. It's the fact that this team got manhandled and beaten so completely by what we all know is a below-average team.
All this after MR was professing his love for PSU.
I need to see something change, particularly on the OL. I have been tolerant of the position coach/QB arrangement up til now but that tolerance is now over. Clearly we need a new OL coach and if that means his nephew leaves, I don't care.

The back end of our schedule has suddenly gotten a crap ton harder.

Northwestern enters this game off a 4 game win streak and a shutout.

Does Ron Kellogg III still have some eligibility?

Iowa signed the best experienced FBS QB on the market. He’s a big guy who can beat you with his legs or arm. They also have a damned good DC who has been there for 150 years it seems.

That was my view before the season when people were predicting a playoff berth. Play the games. Prove what you are.

He was?

Dude is a stiff.

After 7 games he has thrown for 811 yards with 3TDs and 4INTs.

Ahhhh. Watching the sun set over Capri on a hotel balcony near Sorrento. My balcony just above the water. Life is good. Husker football seems not to matter much right now. A little soft music playing in the background…. Peace.

His O line is as bad as ours but they’ve gotten better. They were putrid the first 4 or 5 games and gave the game away to ISU on a freak play. Should be undefeated. Makes me want to puke.

And completely overmatched by Tulane's ponies, apparently. Not saying the Huskers are certain to win, but Northwestern is mediocre at best.
Nebraska is mediocre at best.

This fan base is gonna explode when we get beat my another mediocre team. I would not be surprised if that team is Northwestern.

I have tickets to this game. Gonna be in one of the sky boxes and I'll be on the field at half time. See what we can do to get bowl eligible. GBR.

Minnesota was a mediocre team. Im not sure we would win on the road against Tulane
Northwestern's wins are over teams with a collective record of 12-24. I'm not saying they are mediocre (to put it generously) because I'm certain the Huskers will beat them - I'm saying it because it's true. Losing to Northwestern at home would be embarrassing, just as it was for Penn State.

And likely with half the NIL as the Huskers.
I think Gronowski got a deal in the millions from Iowa. That said, their defense is why they’ve won most of their games. Gronowski had on terrific game. Other games he has looked like he’s not fully recovered from his throwing shoulder rotator cuff surgery.

We can, and we should. But will we? If we don’t, this season is going nosedive. People will realize that just because Rhule had success and Temple and Baylor does not mean he can do it at Nebraska in year 3, or year 4-6. Recruiting falls apart, maybe Trae Taylor decommits.

The positive vibe that Rhule has been curating could be exposed.

Just beat Northwestern.

I haven't bet football since October of 1992. I think I'll put some money on Northwestern this week. It's a win, win situation.

This Saturday afternoon in Lincoln, NE might feel like 9/16/2017 all over again. We'll see.
