Mark is now at 9 rushing TDs on the season, which is tied for the 3rd most by a QB in a season in school history.

He is also the first Iowa QB in school history to rush for a TD in 7 straight games within a single season.

Those 1 yard sneaks are super impressive. I’d rather have a QB that can actually do what he’s supposed to do, pass the ball.

Nicole Auerbach, on keys for Iowa in the 2nd half: "Iowa needs to extend drives."

LULZ! She gets paid for saying things she knows is very likely not going to happen because the team she's talking about has pretty much ZERO passing game??
I would say the same thing on air but I am not hot as **** lol

He is a clown act….
He's acting like how most coordinators act. Normally, (and I know there are plenty of exceptions) but normally, the head coach is expected to be a bit more reserved or measured in his conversation/complaint to the officials. Smith is acting like the ranting lunatic hiding on the sidelines while cussing out the refs who are just out of ear-shot while the head coach talks to them.

Smith is just in unfamiliar territory. That's why he looks like a clown. Because most coordinators are allowed to act that way towards the officials from the sidelines........so long as the refs can't "hear" them.

The way the defense is playing and the got us the lead.... We just need the offense to NOT screw up.

We kick a dumbass 66 yarder and gift 7 and the lead back to PSU.

Now we hope that the defense will get us another score.

PSU would be smart to just hand the ball off. Our offense isn't doing sh*t

It's easy to criticize the FG decision AFTER THE FACT but Drew has shown to be good from at least 65 yards.

Some context, from this season:

17-21 is 81%.

From Aug 30:

From Sep 6:

Note that this FG would have been good from 65 yards.

From Sep 13:

The only thing as bad as Iowa's offense is that halftime routine on Peacock.

NA is hotter than I thought, but what a joke of a halftime show.

Defense has to feel sick right now. Played lights out and the offense gives up 14 points.

Mark is now at 9 rushing TDs on the season, which is tied for the 3rd most by a QB in a season in school history.

And none of them were scored with any talent. All were walk-ins or tush-push. MG's touchdowns is one of the most insignificant facts of all time. Maybe if he could pass for a TD, THAT would be one helluva story. Or if he could even complete a pass. Or even pass for 100 yards in a single game.

Bench the SOB and put in a healthy Hecklinski. This QB stuff is pure BS.

66 yarder.... Just begging for something bad. Surprised PSU didn't have someone in the endzone..

Maybe Stevens should worry about making the kicks inside 40
His practice attempt was a good 10 yards short

which meant his next one he’d have to really drive the ball lower to get more distance

also from 66 yards, PSU can sell out for the block knowing any offsides means it’s a 61 yard

Had Stevens made the kick on practice then sure maybe try again

but overall dumb

After the first try was 10 yds short and KF left hm out there, I said that's how kicks get blocked and run in for a TD.
how do you get another 10 yds Kirk? Oh yeah kick lower for more distance.

I find it pretty hilarious that everyone here is running with the narrative that it's Kirk's fault the FG got blocked.

It's one thing to blame him/Lester for the tight play calling with fear of failure execution leading up to the attempt.

But the block (and the missed FG) fall on Drew Stevens and the poor execution by the blocking unit on special teams. We've had multiple breakdowns with blocked punts and now a FG blocked for a TD. Special teams needs more criticism right now, and I'm kinda disappointed no one is rolling with that...................

Also, it may be time to bench Drew Stevens (AGAIN, btw, for those that don't remember that it wouldn't be the first time).

He is in his own head now, and that means he's f***ed. Time to see what we have for the future for the time being, anyway.

If you going to bench Stevens for his FG then fire the idiot coach making garbage decisions again and again
