Dochterman thinks Matt Campbell could end up at Penn State (or maybe Wisconsin, Nebraska or Michigan State)

The key word, of course, is could.

The coaching carousel could get really wild.

What these schools are currently paying their head coach:
$8,500,000: Penn State
$8,500,000: Nebraska
$7,825,000: Wisconsin
$7,350,000: Michigan State
$5,000,000: Iowa State (sounds high; I believe he took a pay cut in order to pay players)

If I was Campbell I wouldn't leave for any of those jobs. He needs to hold out for a top shelf billionaire funded program.
He demo's success at Wisconsin then he still has access to that. He keeps riding the titanic down in Ames the chance may be gone.

He could coach for life in Ames and make good money.

I don’t think anybody can win enough at schools like Wisconsin to appease the fan base. Don’t have a billionaire backing NIL? your ceiling in SEC and Big10 is never making the playoff and meaningless bowl games.

Never has there been a truer statement. Cigneti is successful because of NIL. As a coach he had two good QB's in the fold and added players with money. Programs who lack that are positioned exactly as you stated.
College football has always been built this way. If Campbell was wise he would stay in Ames. Not as wealthy, a lot less stress.

What do you think Bama's fanbase expects or Ohio State?

Interestingly, KF's base ranks 29th and his buyout ranks 27th, but his max. potential bonus is the 7th highest.

Who knows but he has a comfortable job at ISU

He'd have more depth at Penn State.

Clown U lost their 2 starting CBs and FG kicker & have struggled ever since. They used a lineman for kickoffs in their last game.

What's the excuse going to be on Black Friday afternoon when you watch Nebraska **** their pants yet again?
It wouldn't be Thanksgiving weekend without that. Fans of both schools have become accustomed to it, like turkey and stuffing.

Only fans of one school can spell accustomed though.

Has to strike now as Rocco is done after this season too.

Ain't gonna beat out Texas Tech and BYU with the money in Big 12. So toiling for Pop Tart bowl bids

With this year's schedule being so soft, Clown U was set up to make the Big 12 Championship game & a possible CFP berth (if 2 teams from the Little 12 got selected)

Now, Campbell looks like damaged goods with 2 losses

A lot of chatter on X today that Campbell may go to Arkansas.

That seems like it would be a terrible fit.

Did Bret B. ever get all of his buyout money?

Cignetti is successful because he's a hellava coach. He's done this everywhere he's been. Long before NIL.
Have you researched him at all?

You guys obviously haven’t picked up on Campbell’s schtick. 1. Act like he’s open to other jobs. 2. Use said openness as leverage to get more money out of Iowa State. 3. Get more money out of Iowa State. 4. Stay at Iowa State.

Matt Campbell has been a candidate for every open job. He's got a good agent

He was one of the main speakers at AFCA a few years back. Spoke at length with him. His immediate rise at Indiana is because of NIL and the money Indiana committed to him and the program. No- one mentioned him to be a mediocre coach. You are very short sighted as are many on these message boards. This is the first time Indiana has infused this much cash into the program and what allowed them to hire a coach of Cigs caliber.
