He is even worse than Biden. We need to either have age restrictions or cognitive ability tests. Not trying to be ageist but this guy should not have a say on the future of this country.

I just don’t understand why these people want to keep doing the job. If I’m still working a full time job at 80, something has gone horribly wrong in my life. Same at 70 for that matter.
hard to give up power. And the job isn't too hardI just don’t understand why these people want to keep doing the job. If I’m still working a full time job at 80, something has gone horribly wrong in my life. Same at 70 for that matter.
I’ll work until the day I die. Can’t imagine not being intellectually engaged at some level.I just don’t understand why these people want to keep doing the job. If I’m still working a full time job at 80, something has gone horribly wrong in my life. Same at 70 for that matter.
Hell I ain’t even 50 and I’m ready to retire. I have had to mentors in my life die quickly after retirement. One within 6 months the other a day short of two years retirement. Stop working, Enjoy life!I just don’t understand why these people want to keep doing the job. If I’m still working a full time job at 80, something has gone horribly wrong in my life. Sander’s and Trump seem to be aging well, though it seems like Trump may be having health issues. On this I am 100% in agreement
Schumer needs to go
Biden overstayed by 4 years +
Nancy Pelosi by 2 to 3 years
Bernie Sanders needs to find that retirement home
There are plenty more
I think at the moment Trump is OK from aging standpoint but I would say that at the end of his term he will be heading downhill
Aging is not a sin
Just a fact of life
Or find work that you enjoyHell I ain’t even 50 and I’m ready to retire. I have had to mentors in my life die quickly after retirement. One within 6 months the other a day short of two years retirement. Stop working, Enjoy life!
Absolutely! Then it’s not really work. The railroad has been a good career but I don’t enjoy it.Or find work that you enjoy

To answer your question, in my mind it can only be one or two things: Ego or $$$$.I just don’t understand why these people want to keep doing the job. If I’m still working a full time job at 80, something has gone horribly wrong in my life. Same at 70 for that matter.
Two reasons:I just don’t understand why these people want to keep doing the job. If I’m still working a full time job at 80, something has gone horribly wrong in my life. Same at 70 for that matter.
I retired at a relatively young age. I actually missed my work but I didn't miss 55 hrs per week, late night calls, and very little time off. I could have stepped back to a job that wasn't as demanding of my time but my ego wouldn't allow me to report to somebody that knew less than me. I did volunteer work, a lot of home maintenance that had been neglected, lots of travel, and played a lot of golf.Hell I ain’t even 50 and I’m ready to retire. I have had to mentors in my life die quickly after retirement. One within 6 months the other a day short of two years retirement. Stop working, Enjoy life!

You could add some Supreme Court justices as well. Ginsburg holding on was so stubborn.
FYI, the internet says Pascreall was already dead when you posted this. So, you can check him off. Multiple others on your list have already retired, or are retiring at the end of this term.Fortunately McConnell is done after 2026. Here are some more that need to retire:
Danny Davis 84
Jim Clyburn 85
Nancy Pelosi 85
Steny Hoyer 84
Maxine Waters 87
Bill Pascreall 87
Grace Napolitano 88
Bernie Sanders 84
Anyone else wonder how large this list would be if we set the cutoff at the classic retirement age of 65?FYI, the internet says Pascreall was already dead when you posted this. So, you can check him off. Multiple others on your list have already retired, or are retiring at the end of this term.
Iowa's own Chuck Grassley says hello at age 93, and refuses to commit to this being his last term in office.
I'm fine with 70 or 75. I used to be vehemently against term limits, but it's increasingly clear Congress and the SCOTUS should be term limited. That would mostly take care of the geriatric problems. Hard cap Congress at 18 years in either the House or the Senate, 24 years total. Hard cap the SCOTUS at 20 years. Some anti corruption and provisions against self dealing would be nice, too.Anyone else wonder how large this list would be if we set the cutoff at the classic retirement age of 65?
I just looked up over 65, here is geminis response:I'm fine with 70 or 75. I used to be vehemently against term limits, but it's increasingly clear Congress and the SCOTUS should be term limited. Especially when there is no hope for advancement.I just don’t understand why these people want to keep doing the job. If I’m still working a full time job at 80, something has gone horribly wrong in my life. Same at 70 for that matter.
Yeah, but does that mean clocking in to a 9-5?I’ll work until the day I die. Can’t imagine not being intellectually engaged at some level.

The party establishment keeps getting them on the ballot. The voters keep voting them in.![]()
The party establishment keeps getting them on the ballot.
The voters like to vote a color and have no say in who that is.Yeah and the voters like them which is why they keep voting for the same candidates for decades.
The voters like to vote a color and have no say in who that is.
I think most Americans support their party.I think most Americans support their Congress-person.
Amazing that they can't help themselves and continually act like the internet isn't forever...
Which is why I hated the process of allowing people to just check a box in the booth that allowed for just voting for one party.I think most Americans support their party.
Making them do it individually is just a waste of time for 75% of voters.Which is why I hated the process of allowing people to just check a box in the booth that allowed for just voting for one party.
I’m fine with that. Make them actually research the candidates a little.Making them do it individually is just a waste of time for 75% of voters.
