Iowa WBB Media Day Mailbag

Tomorrow morning Tom and I will be at Iowa WBB Media Day at Carver-Hawkeye Arena.

Jan Jensen is set to speak at 9:00am, with players and other coach interviews to follow. Should have some video of players up tomorrow afternoon, as well as the full transcript from Jan Jensen.

Submit your questions for the upcoming season below and I’ll pick some of them and do a mailbag tomorrow afternoon/evening to wrap up the day.

Q: Is Layla Hayes expected to get significant playing time early?

I don’t profess to know the answer but if Hannah can play the 4 it would be awesome to see Ava and Layla rotating in & out running the floor. Ava demonstrated a big time skill at getting easy baskets winning her race down the court last season. If they both can do it that would give the Hawkeyes a real advantage in the post.

Jan mentioned that they have really worked on Hannah's perimeter game. She also mentioned Ava was a rim runner much like Hannah. Kylie can really run alzo. Chit Chat and Addie shouId really push the ball down the court. I look for Maleggni to be much improved from outside.

Layla should provide more power inside.

1. Hays makes Heiden look small
2. Rodriguez has toned up significantly since her freshman year
3. There must be something really interesting on the floor that 5 of the back row players are looking at lol
4. Deal and Chit Chat looked bored, Feurbach looks like she ready for a modeling shoot, Johnson is doing her best Maroney "not impressed look LOL
5. Gyamfi is looking across thinking "I am in the wrong row"
