Seems the interest is mostly one sided. Her father is trying to utilize the Iowa fan base to get more recognition for his daughter
She seems to be a bit short and weak but other than that she’s definitely a D1 player. We will probably offer her at some point.
She is small, and unfortunately, not so quick. She can shoot, though. I don't think she is suited for Iowa at the level they're aiming for. But maybe she blows up this winter and next summer, and all that changes.

Pretty common for high school kids to get random letters from a multitude of colleges saying something to the effect of "we'll be watching your progress".
My granddaughter got those as an 8th grader playing club ball.

How she fares in AAU ball against high level talent will likely be a big factor on how high up the college food chain she can rise.
I wouldn't mind Iowa making an offer to Payton. I love her shot from the logo, but I understand Jan waiting, as she's still a unranking recruit (ESPN). What I really can't wait for is for Jan to make offers to Micah Ojo (#7 in the 2027 class), Ryan Carter (#12), and Jessie Moses (#28). They follow Iowa, CC, Jan and Abby. All check lists is ok. They're highly ranked in the class and are close to asking to Iowa an offer lol, but the offer hasn't come yet.
It must be another ranking. In the ESPN ranking, she's still out.
So if you think she’s a bit short and weak why would a team like Iowa who is gunning for conference and nattys go for her?
She left her AAU team mid season because she wasn't doing well. Looked for a team at a lower competition level. Things have gone wrong if we offer her.
If one of my family had a chance to go to Stanford, I would pack their bags and put them on the plane myself.
From what I saw from her dad on X, it wasn't a lower competition lvl team she moved to, it was a better team......
If you use her dad as your source, you will have a very different perspective on her than college coaches do.
I'll cheer for her if she becomes a Hawkeye, but I'd honestly prefer that she doesn't. For some reason her dad has made his way into my algorithm and I find him to be a bit full of himself. If she comes to the Hawks and she inevitably isn't a starter, I foresee him being a problem about it.
You act like that would be unusual for a father to do as he is actively trying to promote his daughters basketball abilities.
…..and Waliczko’s father seems to be well liked here; he has been working overtime for years flooding social media to promote his daughter. It might rub some people the wrong way but who cares?
