State championship venues

LRU's Moretz Stadium is an awesome venue and should save a couple of West teams and their fans some travel time and cost.

Definitely gives the western teams an advantage in those regards.
Imagine if Hickory went to the State Championship game but had to travel to Durham or Kenan stadium. lol

I remember Pisgah playing Hickory in basketball years ago (1997?) when Hickory hosted the regionals. It was a lively affair to say the least.

If it's the year I am thinking of, it was 2010. Tarboro was playing Carver there, and we played after Davie County and Hillside. Davie County brought tons of fans.
Should play em all at Richardson Field....it would be perfect .
Agree. No matter which farthest end of our state complains....Charlotte makes the most sense for a lot of reasons. Primarily the abundance of quality 7k plus seating football stadiums to use on ONE weekend.
That way people can make multiple games if they so choose. More $ for NCHSAA. Still haven't figured out why they haven't gone this route since they love the almighty dollar. Would be best for teams too.
I love it for the Foothill/Mountain Schools... They need a break too...
