OT, but there was some really nice play by the youngsters last weekend. McNeil has some funk to his running, Vanderzee is a duh factor, but really liked what I saw out of Buffington in a backup role as well.

The only one forcing himself to believe things that aren't true is you. Iowa can beat good teams if things fall their way, but they haven't done so yet this year losing to an average ISU squad and an excellent Indiana team, their 11th straight loss to ranked opponents.

Do you think PSU, losers of 3 straight including last week at home against NW is a good team right now?

Iowa beats average and below average teams with great regularity. Iowa should beat PSU this weekend. That means Iowa will likely be 3-0 against 0-4 PSU, 0-4 Wisconsin, and 0-4 Rutgers. They'll likely follow that up with a win vs 0-4 MSU bringing Iowa's conference record to 4-1 with all of their wins coming against teams with a combined conference record of 0-20, and you're going to be busy telling everyone it proves that a dysfunctional passing game isn't a problem.

Edit: I left out Minnesota who I believe they will beat as well. The only GOOD teams left on Iowa's schedule are Nebraska, Oregon and USC. I am confident that Iowa will hold these teams below their scoring averages, perhaps well below. I have little confidence in the offense scoring 21 points in any of these games, which will likely still be necessary to win, but if the defense or special teams can deliver some short fields like they did on Saturday they definitely have a shot.

Maybe WI has seen the success Kirk has built around a crap offense and figured he can get 20+ years if he destroys his…..

Maybe more coaches keep their jobs if they abandon the forward pass

you aren't wrong, but this team is also not getting blown out by ranked opponents, so far. I hope this doesn't become a Debby type of scenario where Iowa can't finish games off, but they certainly should have won that Indy game.
