There is an enhanced threat of severe weather today for north MS and a slight risk Monday for the southern part of the state. Main threats both days are large hail and damaging straight line winds. Tornado threat is low both days, but as was seen yesterday in Canton it can't be completely ruled out.

Severe storms have now formed and moving SE. One storm currently tornado warned about to cross the river. Other storms producing large quantities of hail.

One storm just came thru Tupelo, that was some of the worst sounding hail I’ve ever heard and wind was insane for about 5 minutes

I had about marble size hail in West Tupelo in the S Thomas St area

Also, it appears just had a very brief weak tornado touch down in Monroe County. Literally just there for one radar scan.
