Why not Banks Field?
I can't grasp the dimensions of a baseball diamond inside Kinnick. One outfield wall would be like 170 feet? Slap a giant black and gold monster wall to it and block seating below row 30?

Cool
Baseball as comic theater. White Sox and Rockies fans already know the feeling, hahaNever heard of this freak show

It’s like the globetrotters.
I really don’t get the appeal, it’s like a circus act. Show me your tricks in 30 minutes and be done already.
people seem to be crazy for it and so it’s a great deal for Iowa city.
Please don't tell me you watch professional wrestling. It’s like the globetrotters.

Nope. I also don’t watch this bs baseball. Please don't tell me you watch professional wrestling.
I agree, it is like the Globetrotters, but for young kids...it is the bomb. I am hopeful to draw tickets so I can take my grandsons. I know they would love it.It’s like the globetrotters.

It's family entertainment. They also support a lot of good charities.Nope. I also don’t watch this bs baseball.
It’s like the Chinese acrobats. Fun for 10 minutes. Just show me the tricks I don’t need the contrived game to string it out.
I think it would be good during tv timeouts of a football game. That would be more than enough for me.

I love the insinuation from Obscure's post that being like the Globetrotters is a bad thing. The Globetrotters have been around for 100 years, longer than most professional franchises.I agree, it is like the Globetrotters, but for young kids...it is the bomb. Be thankful it’s not everybody’s cup of tea. Do you really want millions of people entering for the ticket lottery?I love the insinuation from Obscure's post that being like the Globetrotters is a bad thing. The Globetrotters have been around for 100 years, longer than most professional franchises.
Huh?Awesome news. Banana Ball is so much fun to watch. It's great that Kinnick will be hosting a game. These always sell out and require a lottery system to even get a ticket.
Let the old boomers stay angry in their retirement homes about this. Kinnick will be rocking when they're in town.
Can't say I'm really interested in it, but for those sayings it's just the Globetrotters of baseball, it actually isn't quite like that. Sure some of it is theatre and they script some of the performances, but the games actually are real. The Bananas and the teams they play are all high level players, and unlike the Globetrotters the Bananas don't always win. Basically they integrate some flair into actual competitive games.
The 60 minutes piece is pretty interesting. (above) Check it out.outfielders doing somersaults while catching fly balls is impressive
and the guy on stilts batting (and pitching?) is kinda fun
Savannah Bananas will bring their zany baseball to Kinnick Stadium next July 3-4
The immensely popular barnstorming baseball/entertainment team will bring its fun and talent to Iowa’s football stadium for two nights
Kinnick Stadium will have a capacity for 65,000 fans for the 2 games. Given the national box office success of the Bananas in 2025, a pair of sellouts may be what Kinnick sees.
As of Sept. 22, more than 2.2 million fans had attended games on this year’s Banana Ball World Tour. An April game at Clemson University’s Memorial Stadium drew 81,000, with all the tickets gone within 4 hours of going on sale.
The way to try to get tickets is to register in a lottery at the team’s website, bananaball.com. The lottery will be open through the end of October. If selected, fans will have an opportunity to continue through the verification process.

Why is that a weird question? No way they fill Kinnick. It's cheesy circus show.
I didn’t make it that far in the segment, I guess. You didn't watch the clip from Sixty minutes, did you? They sold out 3 NFL stadiums and 17 Major league stadiums.
Living under a rock?
It's the 21st century baseball version of the Harlem Globetrotters.
