Is there any scenario rice plays in 8A? Would be fun! Although I’m not sure the score would be any better.
Why wait for the playoffs and an impossible request to petition down? Just schedule them in a non-con game like the current #1 team in 8A did two years ago. From what I am being told LWE is petitioning down to 6A in order to decisively show who the #1 team in Illinois is
Too bad LWE wouldn't ever do this. An East St. Louis- LWE matchup to open the season in week 1 would require playing the game in a different location to accommodate the number of fans showing up.Why wait for the playoffs and an impossible request to petition down? Clyde C. Jordan has more than enough seats to accommodate the LWE fans. There is also plenty of room to tailgate just outside of the stadium.Too bad LWE wouldn't ever do this. Because both schools don't want it to happen.Again….LW Central had a home and home series with EStL years back…not sure why LWE has not happened.
Why hasn't LWE put East St. Louis on the schedule? Or vice versa? It's a fair question to ask.Again….LW Central had a home and home series with EStL years back…not sure why LWE has not happened.
All.... Absolutely. And Estl fans are the kings of the state with college and pro grade tailgating that has been written up in the St. Louis newspaper periodically. A huge area with everything imaginable cooking. With fans that show up on afternoon postseason games at the crack of dawn to set up and for the earliest ones get a spot right next to the stadium endzone watching the Flyers pound their rival of the day though the fence. You're contending that ESL will play Bishop Gorman, IMG, etc., but dodge LWE?Because both schools don't want it to happen.
I don't believe anyone was accusing LWE of dodging. We might, however, be insinuating that LWE hasn't picked up the phone to call ESL to schedule a game, which is not the same as dodging.I don’t believe LWE has dodged anyone in the 25 year history of existence. The program has done just fine for a public HS representative. Let the fun begin.
Is it a landline????I don't believe anyone was accusing LWE of dodging. We might, however, be insinuating that LWE hasn't picked up the phone to call ESL to schedule a game, which is not the same as dodging.![]()
Yea I'm going out on a limb and saying that's not the case. MC and LA on the schedule the last two years for in state opponents. IMG (x) Bosco, Gorman, SFA. What about that non con schedule would make you believe esl would avoid playing lwe.Because both schools don't want it to happen.
LWE is just to big and too strongYea I'm going out on a limb and saying that's not the case. MC and LA on the schedule the last two years for in state opponents. IMG (x) Bosco, Gorman, SFA. What about that non con schedule would make you believe esl would avoid playing lwe.
You are tugging that chain!LWE is just to big and too strong
there is a huge difference in play when you look at what is going on in 6A as compared to the largest class in the state
You are going to need a bigger worm on that hookLWE is just to big and too strong

This is what I was alluding to in this thread. LWE can make it happen but why hasn't it is a fair question.I don't believe anyone was accusing LWE of dodging. We might, however, be insinuating that LWE hasn't picked up the phone to call ESL to schedule a game, which is not the same as dodging.![]()
Why hasn't LWE put East St. Louis on the schedule? Or vice versa? It's a fair question to ask.
LWE was supposed to go down to ESL last season and play in their classic. They were supposed to play a team from Florida but a few weeks before the classic the team from Florida cancelled on them. LWE tried finding another opponent but no one was available or willing to play. LWE ended up with a forfeit win and only an 8 game regular season schedule.I don’t believe LWE has dodged anyone in the 25 year history of existence. The program has done just fine for a public HS representative. Let the fun begin.
I believe, and maybe wrong, that you can only go up 2 classes from where you were originally slated to be by your actual enrollment and ESL would be 4A by their enrollment size so 6A is as high as they can go. Since they've switched to the 8 class system ESL has never been higher then 7ACan ESL petition up and say they want to play in the 8A for playoffs? Let's figure out who the #1 is this year with a bracket loaded with LW-East, ESL, Loyola, and MC!
You can petition up to any class you want. The rest of ESL's conference put in a bylaw saying you could only petition up one class (effectively keeping ESL out of 7A and 8A where the rest of the conference doesn't feel like being eliminated by them).I believe, and maybe wrong, that you can only go up 2 classes from where you were originally slated to be by your actual enrollment and ESL would be 4A by their enrollment size so 6A is as high as they can go. So why didn't LWE end up playing East St. Louis last week?LWE was supposed to go down to ESL last season and play in their classic. LWE tried finding another opponent but no one was available or willing to play. LWE ended up with a forfeit win and only an 8 game regular season schedule.
If you mean last year it's because ESL already had an opponent for the classic. So why didn't LWE end up playing East St. Louis last week?
JCA has to get back on track first. Going to come down to the last game of the season against Provi to see if they even get into the playoffs.I still believe a Joliet Catholic Academy vs Lincoln-Way East should happen also.
Providence Catholic happened for 5-6 years. St. Rita had a home and home. Richards HS. Edwardsville did two years at ISU for non-cons and of course Maine South from the early 2000’s has scheduled the Griffins.
LWE opponent bailed on them in the '24 classic. ESL opponent bailed on them in the '25 classic. So why didn't LWE end up playing East St. Louis last week?
How has this turned in to LWE playing "in" ESL vs LWE playing against ESL?Again LWE had plans last year to be in the EStl classic…Florida team bailed.
The post started about the odds of BR going 8A, so not sure how we got here at all.How has this turned in to LWE playing "in" ESL vs LWE playing against ESL?
